Nitsergolin

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: ницерголин;
1 tablet contains a nitsergolin of 10 mg;
excipients: sugar milk, stearic acid, potato starch, magnesium carbonate the main, sugar, talc, titanium dioxide, polyvinylpirrolidone, aerosil, beeswax.

Pharmacological properties:

On chemical structure ницерголин the bromzameshchenny rest of niacin is the analog of alkaloids of an ergot containing in addition to an ergolinovy kernel. Like the dihydrogenated derivatives of alkaloids of an ergot, ницерголин renders α – adrenoceptor blocking action. Besides, it has the spasmolytic activity which is especially expressed concerning vessels of a brain and peripheral vessels that can be somewhat connected with existence in its molecule of the rest nicotinic
acids. Drug reduces vascular resistance of a brain and lungs; increases a blood stream,
especially at patients with a functional arteriopatiya, improves a condition of patients with the disorders of functions of a brain caused by exchange and vascular insufficiency; it is effective at disturbances of the central and peripheric circulation; causes positive effect in the recovery period after brain ischemia. Nitsergolin improves a metabolism and a hemodynamics both in a brain, and on the periphery. Use of a nitsergolin by patients with neurosurgical pathology renders positive effect on a functional tone of systems vystseralno-to vegetative regulation of a brain blood-groove and bioelectric activity of a brain, influencing limbic structures of a brain and a hypothalamus. Drug has also anti-aggregation action and causes positive gemorreologochesky effects; improves bioelectric activity of a brain, the neuropsychological status at people with senile dementia.

Indications to use:

Acute and chronic brain vascular frustration, especially at early disturbances of cerebral circulation (including at cerebral atherosclerosis, effects of thrombosis of vessels of a brain), migraine, вертиго, frustration of peripheric circulation (arteriopatiya of extremities, a Raynaud's disease), and also a diabetic retinopathy, ischemic damages of an optic nerve, dystrophic
eye cornea diseases.

Route of administration and doses:

Inside on 10 mg (1 tablet) 3 times a day. Treatment is carried out 2-3 months and more is long (depending on disease severity, efficiency of treatment and individual sensitivity to drug). Drug is recommended to patients from 18 to 65 years.

Side effects:

Hypotension, dizziness, gastrointestinal frustration, drowsiness or, on the contrary, sleeplessness, stenocardia attacks, cooling of extremities, perspiration, and also erubescence of the person and upper half of a body, skin itch.

Interaction with other medicines:

If you accept any other medicines, surely consult with the doctor about a possibility of use of drug. Strengthens effect of antihypertensives, tranquilizers, neuroleptics, anticoagulants, dezagregant. In a case use of the antiacid drugs containing salts of magnesium or aluminum, drug accept for 2 or in 2 hours after reception of antiacid drugs. Interaction with drugs which are metabolized with the participation of enzyme is possible
CYP450206 (quinidine, majority of antipsychotic means, including клозалин, рисперидон, haloperidol, thioridazine).

Contraindications:

Individual intolerance of drug. The expressed hypotension, an angina of exertion, the expressed atherosclerosis, hypersensitivity to niacin, dystrophic changes in a liver. It is not recommended to use drug the patient, aged to 18 and after 65 years, during pregnancy and feeding by a breast.

Cautions at use. Before an initiation of treatment consult with the doctor! During pregnancy and a lactation drug is used in urgent cases when the advantage for mother exceeds risk for a fruit and the child. During treatment alcohol intake and narcotic drugs is forbidden. In pilot studies teratogenic effect of drug is not revealed. Nitsergolin's influence on driving by motor transport and work with potentially dangerous mechanisms it was not studied.

Storage conditions:

Drug period of validity - 3 years. Not to use drug after the termination of the period of validity specified on packaging.
