Afloderm

Afloderm – a glucocorticosteroid for topical administration with antipruritic, antiinflammatory, anti-proliferative and antiallergic action.

Form of release and structure

Dosage forms of Afloderm:

External
• use cream: white color, homogeneous (in aluminum tubas on 20 and 40 g, on 1 tuba in a cardboard pack);
• Ointment for external use: light yellow or white color (in aluminum tubas on 20 and 40 g, on 1 tuba in a cardboard pack).

Active agent of Afloderm (cream and ointment): Dipropionas of an alklometazon, in 1 g – 0,5 mg.

Auxiliary components:

• Cream: sodium hydroxide, the purified water, soft white paraffin, a macrogoal glyceryl stearate, cetostearyl alcohol, chlorocresol, phosphoric acid, dihydrophosphate sodium a dihydrate;
• Ointment: soft white paraffin, white beeswax, propylene glycol монопальмитостеарат, hexyleneglycol.

Indications to use

Afloderm appoint at the inflammatory skin diseases and a dermatosis reacting to topical therapy of GKS such as:

• Eczema;
• Contact and allergic dermatitis, including sunblisters, a photodermatitis, phytodermatitis;
• Atopic dermatitis;
• Psoriasis;
• Allergic reactions to stings of insects.

Cream Afloderm is applied as therapy at acute and subacute stages of inflammations of the skin, including followed by exudation. Means is recommended at treatment of inflammatory diseases on sensitive and gentle body parts (a breast, a neck, a face, genital areas), and also, in case of need, for additional hydration of affected areas of skin which is carried out at the expense of drug components.

Ointment Afloderm is appointed for the purpose of prevention of a subacute and chronic dermatosis, in particular, at the shelled and dry defeats, infiltration, and also in cases when occlusal effect of ointment is necessary.

Contraindications

• Tuberculosis cutis;
• Hypersensitivity to an alklometazon or auxiliary components of ointment and cream;
• Chicken pox;
• Skin displays of syphilis;
• Open wounds, trophic ulcers;
• Skin postvaccinal reactions;
• Viral infections of skin.

Children can appoint drug, since 6-month age.

Use of cream and ointment Afloderm is allowed during pregnancy, however use of drug has to be short and pass under control of the doctor. Data on its teratogenic effect are absent.

Also Afloderm's use in the period of a lactation is allowed. During treatment it is necessary to observe precautionary measures, in particular, not to apply drug on breast skin before feeding.

Route of administration and dosage

Afloderm it is necessary to apply cream and ointment evenly a thin layer on affected areas of skin to 3 times a day. At treatment of chronic diseases for prevention of a recurrence treatment it is necessary to continue still some time after disappearance of symptoms. In the period of an aftercare and in pediatrics it is possible to reduce the frequency of use of Afloderm to 1 time a day.

If the effect is absent within 2 weeks, it is necessary to specify the diagnosis.

Side effects

Usually Afloderm is had well, the arising by-effects develop seldom and have reversible character. Most often during treatment arise: burning, itch, xeroderma, erythema, papular rash, irritation, akneformny rash, folliculitis, perioral dermatitis, hypopigmentation, consecutive infection, dermatitis, striya, skin atrophy, heat rash.

At development of the above described symptoms or reactions of hypersensitivity therapy it is necessary to cancel and see a doctor.

Special instructions

It is impossible to allow Afloderm's hits in eyes (in order to avoid possible development of a cataract and glaucoma), and also on open wound surfaces.

If disease is complicated by a consecutive bacterial or fungal infection, in addition appoint antibacterial or antifungal therapy.

Afloderm it is possible to apply at treatment of children of early age. It is necessary to consider that at small children of a diaper and skin folds can have the effect similar to action of an occlusive bandage that, respectively, increases system absorption of active agent. In this regard long use of means for children of early age is possible only under control of the doctor.

If at the first use hypersensitivity reactions (burning, an itch, a hyperemia) develop, drug should be cancelled.

On the action mechanism Afloderm's analogs are drugs: Дермовейт, Kloveyt, Lokoid, Ftorokortum, Latikort, Pauerkort.

Terms and storage conditions

Cream and ointment are released without recipe of the doctor. Yo-period of validity 3 years at a temperature up to 30 °C.
