Ammifurin

Ammifurin – the photosensitizing means of a plant origin.

Form of release and structure

• Tablets: round, biconvex, color, light yellow with a greenish shade, with more dark impregnations, with a slight specific smell (on 10, 30 or 50 pieces in planimetric strip packagings, in a pack of cardboard 3 or 5 packagings on 10 таб., 1 packaging on 30 or 50 таб.);
• Solution for external use of 0,3%: transparent liquid of color, light yellow with a greenish shade, with an alcohol smell, is sensitive to light (on 50 and 100 ml in dark glass bottles, in a pack a cardboard 1 bottle; on 1000 and 5000 ml in orange glass bottles).

Active agent – furocoumarins (бергаптен, изопимпинеллин and xanthotoxinum) fruits of an amma big:

• 1 tablet – 20 mg;
• 1 ml of solution – 3 mg.

Excipients of tablets: sugar milk (lactose), calcium stearate, potato starch.

Additional components of solution: ethanol of 95%, glycerin and the water purified.

Indications to use

Ammifurin is applied as the photosensitizing means in combination with ultra-violet radiation (Ural federal district):

• Vitiligo;
• Psoriasis;
• Fungoid mycosis;
• Gnezdny and total alopecia.

Contraindications

• The diseases which are followed by hypersensitivity to light such as albinism and system lupus erythematosus;
• Benign and malignant tumors;
• Multiple pigmental nevus;
• Dekompensirovanny endocrine diseases;
• Thyrotoxicosis;
• Diseases of the central nervous system (cachexia);
• Diseases of kidneys (nephrite);
• Liver diseases (hepatitis, cirrhosis);
• Pancreatitis;
• Acute gastritis, aggravation of a peptic ulcer of a stomach and 12-perstny gut;
• Diabetes mellitus;
• Tuberculosis;
• Cataract;
• Diseases of cardiovascular system (idiopathic hypertensia of the II-III degree, chronic cordial nedostayotochnost);
• Blood diseases;
• Deficit of lactase, lactose intolerance, glyukozo-galaktozny malabsorption (for tablets);
• Pregnancy and period of breastfeeding;
• Age up to 18 years (for tablets), up to 5 years (for solution);
• Intolerance of Ural federal district and Psoralenums.

With care Ammifurin it is necessary to apply at treatment of children and elderly (60 years are more senior) people.

Route of administration and dosage

Ammifurin appoint in combination with Ural federal district.

In the form of tablets drug should be accepted inside after food, washing down with milk, in 2 hours prior to radiation. A single dose – 0,8 mg/kg, but no more than 80 mg (4 таб.) on reception. The course dose makes 100-150 таб. (2000-3000 mg).

In the form of solution means is applied outwardly, applying on the centers a porazheyoniya, in 1 hour prior to radiation. The course dose makes 1-2 bottles on 50 ml (150-300 mg).

Bucketed 1-1,5 months conduct repeated courses.

At the limited centers of defeat drug is appointed only outwardly. At common forms of a disease outside application of Ammifurin is combined with his intake.

Procedures of Ural federal district at psoriasis are carried out by 4 times a week, radiation begin about ½ biodoses and gradually increase up to 5-6 biodoses that corresponds to duration of radiation from 1 to 15 minutes (depending on individual sensitivity to ultraviolet radiation). The general course of treatment consists of 15-20 procedures. If necessary treatment is carried out in combination with long-wave Uv-radiation.

In other cases radiation is carried out by 3 times a week. The general course consists of 20-25 procedures, all 4-6 courses are shown.

In all cases in summertime radiation by a kvaryotsevy lamp can be replaced with the dosed solar inyosolyation.

Side effects

• Skin reactions: secondary xanthopathy, itch, moderate erythema;
• At a combination to Ural federal district: nausea, dizziness, heavy feeling in a stomach, a headache, a cardialgia, heartbeat (in this case drug should be cancelled);
• At overdose of artificial or solar radiation: acute dermatitis (hypostasis and dermahemia, bubbles).

Special instructions

At local influence in order to avoid radiation probably of the healthy skin surrounding the defeat centers at distance of 1-2 cm from borders of defeat it should be greased with photoprotective cream or zinc paste, and after the Ural federal district procedure – to delete with the cotton plug moistened with vegetable oil.

It is necessary to be careful during the using of cosmetics and the use of products which contain the photosensitizing substances.

Treatment has to be carried out under observation of the doctor.

Each tablet Ammifurin contains 0,079 g of carbohydrates that there correspond 0,01 grain units.

At reception of tablets it is recommended to avoid stay under direct sunshine, during the day to wear light-protective glasses, and also to be careful when driving and performing potentially dangerous types of the works demanding speed of psychophysical reactions and special attention.

Medicinal interaction

The specified therapy can be carried out along with the standard mediyokamentozny treatment including use of vascular drugs, penicillin, a lidaza and outside medicines.

Ammifurin strengthens action of other photosensitizers (including the photosensitizing cosmetics and foodstuff).

Terms and storage conditions

To store in protected from light, the place, unavailable to children, at a temperature not above 25 °C.

Period of validity – 5 years.
