Dosage form

Aether chloratus is released in aerosol barrels on 100 or 480 ml, or in ampoules on 30 ml, on 10 ampoules in packaging.

Aether chloratus represents easily flying colourless, transparent liquid with a peculiar smell, almost insoluble in water.

Active ingredient of drug is ethyl chloride.

Pharmacological action

Drug is used for a short surface anesthesia of integuments. At contact with skin drug begins to evaporate quickly (temperature of boiling of 12 degrees Celsius) that leads to ischemia of fabrics and feeling of strong cooling owing to what there comes temporary anesthesia.

The anesthetic effect of Aether chloratus develops very quickly, 5-10 seconds later after use, and proceeds not longer than twenty minutes. Drug does not cause accustoming and resorptive toxic action.

The anesthetic effect of drug is caused oppressing impact on TsNS and disturbance of synoptic momentum transfer. Drug is quite active, however has the small width of therapeutic action, there is a risk of overdose.

• abnormal liver functions and kidneys.

For a local anesthesia contraindications to Aether chloratus are:

• diseases of vessels (vascular spasms or varicosity);

• disturbance of integrity of skin.

When drawing Aether chloratus it is necessary to watch that the patient did not inhale the ethyl chloride evaporating from the surface of skin.

Side effects of Aether chloratus

Aether chloratus should be applied with care as emergence of such undesirable side effects as damage of integrity of integuments with exudation and a hyperemia is possible.
