Description:


Malignant fibrous histiocytoma of a bone — rather rare (about 2% of primary malignant tumors of a skeleton) the malignant tumor with sharply expressed polymorphism of fusocellular elements deprived of any signs of a histologic differentiation. Meets at young and senile age (average age of 50 years), is slightly more often at men. It is localized generally in metaphyses of long bones — a femur, shin bones, a humeral bone, is more rare in kraniofatsialny bones, it is extremely rare in bones of a backbone and edges.


Symptoms of the Malignant fibrous histiocytoma of a bone:


Pain, morbidity at a palpation, often pathological changes.

Radiological — the osteolytic excentricly located center without signs of calcification and a clear boundary; periosteal reaction is found seldom; usually destruction of a cortical plate and spread of a tumor to soft tissues.

Treatment of the Malignant fibrous histiocytoma of a bone:


Neoadjuvant chemotherapy with the subsequent adequate segmented resection of a bone together with a tumor. In some cases amputation is shown. Except an operative measure carry out adjuvant chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
