Eosinophilic granuloma


Description:


Eosinophilic granuloma – the disease of not clear nature which is characterized by education in bones of infiltrates (granulomas) rich with eosinophilic granulocytes. Occurs seldom, preferential at children of preschool age.

The main sign of an eosinophilic granuloma – the single or multiple isolated centers in flat and tubular bones. Most often calvaria bones, femurs, pelvic bones, vertebrae are surprised.


Symptoms of the Eosinophilic granuloma:


Initial symptoms of a disease are morbidity and a swelling in the field of the defeat center. The swelling on a skull becomes soft, edges of bone defect are palpated as the crateriform thickening. At damage of long tubular bones the club-shaped thickening is defined. Skin over them is usually not changed. General condition of the patient satisfactory. Sometimes children complain of the pains amplifying at the movement on headaches at damage of bones of a skull. The disease develops slowly, has, as a rule, a chronic current. In rare instances quickly progresses. At the big centers of defeat pathological changes and formation of nearthroses are possible.

Reasons of the Eosinophilic granuloma:


The etiology and pathogeny  remain not clear so far.


Treatment of the Eosinophilic granuloma:


The roentgenotherapy of the destructive centers of a bone tissue gives good effect. Sometimes use surgical treatment (curettage). As cases of spontaneous recovery before appointing such methods as hormonic and a roentgenotherapy, it is necessary to use waiting tactics with careful dispensary observation for the sick child are known.
