Okomistin

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 10 mg of a miramistin (бензилдиметил-миристоиламино-пропиламмония monohydrate chloride).

Excipients: sodium chloride, the water purified.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Antiseptic drug for topical administration in ophthalmology.

Possesses the expressed antimicrobic action concerning gram-positive and gram-negative, aerobic and anaerobic bacteria in the form of monocultures and microbic associations, including hospital strains with polyresistance to antibiotics.

It is active concerning chlamydias, a pathogenic fungi, and also concerning viruses of herpes, adenoviruses.

Drug is more effective concerning gram-positive bacteria, including staphylococcus, streptococci.

Under the influence of drug resistance of bacteria and mushrooms to antibiotics decreases.

Pharmacokinetics. Data on pharmacokinetics of the drug Okomistin® are not provided.

Indications to use:

— acute and chronic conjunctivitis;

— blefarokonjyunktivit;

— keratitis;

— keratouveit;

— prevention of pyoinflammatory complications in the preoperative and postoperative period;

— eye injury.

Route of administration and doses:

With the medical purpose the drug Okomistin® is dug in in a conjunctival sac on 1-2 drops of 4-6 times/days before clinical recovery.

With the preventive purpose drug is dug in in 2-3 days prior to operation, and also within 10-15 days after operation on 1-2 drops of 3 times/days.

Features of use:

Use at pregnancy and feeding by a breast. Drug is contraindicated to use at pregnancy and in the period of a lactation (breastfeeding).

Use for children. It is contraindicated at children's and teenage age up to 18 years.

Special instructions. Contact lenses should be removed just before an instillation of the drug Okomistin® and to put on not earlier than in 15 min. after an instillation.

Influence on ability to driving of motor transport and to control of mechanisms. Patients should refrain from driving of motor transport and from occupations other potentially dangerous types of activity demanding the increased concentration of attention, speed of psychomotor reactions and good sight within 30 min. after an instillation in an eye.

Side effects:

Perhaps: allergic reactions.

In some cases: the feeling of easy burning, discomfort which pass independently through 15-20 sec. and do not demand drug withdrawal.

Interaction with other medicines:

The research of interaction ^{of the drug Okomistin®} with other medicines was not conducted.

Contraindications:

— children's and teenage age up to 18 years;

— pregnancy;

— period of a lactation (breastfeeding);

— hypersensitivity to drug components.

Overdose:

Data on overdose of the drug Okomistin® are not provided.

Storage conditions:

Drug should be stored in the place, unavailable to children, at a temperature not above 25 °C. A period of validity - 3 years. A period of validity after opening of a bottle - 1 month.
