Iodinolum

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredients: 1 g of iodine, 3 g of potassium iodide.

Excipients: polyvinyl alcohol, the water purified.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Iodinolum — antiseptic drug of iodine with the extended action, has the expressed antimicrobic (bactericidal) effect on gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, on pathogenic fungi. Drug малотоксичен.

Indications to use:

Iodinolum is appointed according to indications: Adenoid disease, purulent otitis, atrophic rhinitis, chronic periodontitis, purulent wounds and surgical diseases, trophic and varicose ulcers, thermal and corrosive burns.

Route of administration and doses:

Iodinolum is applied outwardly in the form of washing, by instillations, lotions and imposing of gauze napkins.

Adenoid disease — washing by Iodinolum of lacunas of almonds and supratonsillar spaces (1 times in 2-3 days; in total carry out 4 — 5 washings).

Purulent otitises — are treated by an instillation of 5-8 drops of Iodinolum and washings of cavities. Duration of a course of treatment — 2-4 weeks.

At atrophic rhinitises — spraying of a nasal cavity and a throat 2-3 times a week within 2-3 months.

Treatment of an ozena — after a preliminary softening and removal of crusts, is made spraying of a nasal cavity and a throat by Iodinolum 2-3 times a week. A course of treatment — 2-3 months.

At trophic and varicose ulcers, purulent wounds and burns — apply water dressings from 3 layers of the gauze moistened with Iodinolum, bandagings make 1-2 times a day. At the same time the gauze lying on an ulcer surface is not deleted, and again impregnated with Iodinolum.

In the presence of wound cavities they are washed out Iodinolum and enter the tampons moistened with drug.

Side effects:

At persons, with the increased individual sensitivity to drugs of iodine the iodism phenomena are possible.

Contraindications:

Idiosyncrasy to iodine.

Storage conditions:

To store in the place protected from light, at a temperature from 0 °C to 35 °C. Period of validity: 3 years.
