Tolochinov-Roget's disease

Description:

Tolochinov-Roget's disease (анг. Tolochinov; Rozhe) is an inborn defect of development of heart when the partition between ventricles (heart cameras) is deformed.

Etiologies of Tolochinov-Roget:

During a systole pressure in a left ventricle is more, than in right. As a result of it blood from a left ventricle passes into the right auricle that leads to its expansion and a hypertrophy. During a diastole blood from the left auricle and a right ventricle comes to a left ventricle, thereby causing its hypertrophy. Thus, heart extends in both parties more to the right

Symptoms of a disease of Tolochinov-Roget:

At percussion reveal expansion of borders of heart to the right and to the left. When finding the patient on the left side "cat's purring" often is defined. At auscultation at the level of III-IV mezhreberye on a breast the sharp systolic noise which is well carried out to interscapular space is listened. The accent of the II tone over a pulmonary artery usually is not listened. The deviation of an electrical axis of heart to the right or to the left or lengthening of an interval of P-Q in some cases is defined on an ECG. For specification of the diagnosis use an echocardiography. Defect proceeds is good-quality, with rare development of a decompensation; operational treatment is not required.

Treatment of a disease of Tolochinov-Roget:

It is necessary only at emergence of cardiovascular insufficiency. For the prevention of cordial weakness appoint fortifying means (iron preparations, arsenic, phosphorus) and limit exercise and mental stresses.
