Pharmacological properties of Eglonyl

Eglonyl is carried to group of neuroleptics. The main active ingredient of this means – Sulpiridum. The mechanism of effect of drug is connected with selective blocking dopamine D2 receptors in the central nervous system (in mesolimbic and mesocortical zones). Due to such blocking influence Eglonyl renders a moderate antidepressive, antipsychotic and promoting effect. Use of Eglonyl in average therapeutic doses practically does not influence productive symptomatology – nonsense and hallucinations, but at the same time eliminates apathy and a depression.

The additional medical effect of Eglonyl consists in selective influence on a hypothalamus and suppression of excitement in it in the centers of a sympathetic nervous system. It increases education in a stomach of protective slime, improves blood supply of walls of a stomach, improves healing of erosion and ulcers. Therefore indications to Eglonyl are also ulcer and erosive processes in a stomach, especially against the background of the expressed stress.

The drug pharmacodynamics linear – its concentration in blood directly depends on the accepted dose. Eglonyl well gets through a blood-brain barrier into a brain. In an organism it is practically not metabolized. In an invariable look it is removed with urine through kidneys.

Analogs of Eglonyl are such drugs as Beta max., Prosulpin.

Release form

According to the instruction Eglonyl is produced in the form of tablets on 50 and 200 mg, 5% of solution in ampoules on 2 ml.

Indications

Drug is used in therapy of depressive frustration, schizophrenia and other psychotic frustration, by migraines, psychosomatic frustration, posttraumatic encephalopathy, at behavior disorders at children, dizzinesses. Positive reviews about Eglonyl in complex treatment of a peptic ulcer of a stomach and duodenum, stressful ulcers of a digestive tract, medicinal ulcers are received.

Contraindications

According to the instruction Eglonyl cannot be applied at individual intolerance, a tumor of a medulla of adrenal glands – a pheochromocytoma, with the increased arterial pressure, in a condition of psychomotor excitement.

Care in use of Eglonyl is required during pregnancy, breastfeeding, at senile age, at epilepsy, a renal failure.

Application instruction of Eglonyl

Эглонил в виде таблеток During the acute period of a disease and at expressiveness of psychotic symptomatology treatment is begun with parenteral use of drug intramusculary. At a stable condition of the patient recommend reception in the form of tablets.

The drug dose at psychotic frustration depends on what symptomatology prevails – at positive 800-1600 mg/days in 3 receptions, at negative 200-600 mg/days in 3 receptions.

The children's dose is calculated proceeding from body weight – 5-10 mg/kg/days, it depends on degree of manifestation of symptoms.

For treatment of a peptic ulcer of a stomach and a duodenum accept 150 mg 3 times a day, a course up to 4-6 weeks. At psychosomatic frustration 100-200 mg/days there are enough.

For therapy of depressive frustration a dose of drug of 150-300 mg 3 times a day, at dizzinesses of 150-300 mg/days. In case of insufficiently expressed clinical action the dose is increased.

During pregnancy of a dose of Eglonyl have to be whenever possible minimum and a short course.

As well as analogs Eglonyl reduces the speed of response and concentration of attention.

Side effects

According to reviews Eglonyl is capable to cause during treatment sleeplessness, dizzinesses, excitement, uneasiness, headaches, dryness in a mouth, a tremor, temperature increase, changes in biochemical analysis of blood, increase in arterial pressure, vomiting, nausea, locks, allergic reactions in the form of an itch and rash.
