Kromoglin

Спрей назальный Кромоглин Kromoglin – antiallergic drug.

Form of release and structure

Dosage forms:

  • Eye drops (on 10 ml in plastic bottles with a stopper dropper, in a cardboard pack 1 bottle);
  • Nasal spray (on 15 ml in plastic bottles with a conical nozzle sprayer and a cover, in a cardboard box 1 bottle).

Active ingredient of Kromoglin – kromoglitsiyevy acid (disodium salt). Its contents:

  • 1 ml of drops – 20 mg;
  • 1 ml of spray – 20 mg.

Excipients:

  • Drops: a benzalkoniya chloride, эдетат sodium, water for injections;
  • Spray: sodium hydroxide, sodium эдетат, water for injections.

Indications to use

Drops Kromoglin apply in the following cases:

  • Allergic keratitis;
  • Allergic conjunctivitis;
  • Syndrome of "dry" eyes;
  • Fatigue and overstrain of eyes;
  • Keratoconjunctivitis;
  • Irritation of a mucous membrane of eyes owing to influence of allergens, such as plants and domestic animals, ophthalmologic drugs, cosmetics and means of household chemicals, environment factors, professional harm.

Spray Kromoglin is intended for treatment and prevention of seasonal and/or year-round rhinitis of an allergic origin.

Contraindications

Use of drug is contraindicated to patients with the known hypersensitivity to its components.

During pregnancy and a lactation Kromoglin can be applied only on doctor's orders and after assessment of a ratio of advantage and risks.

Route of administration and dosage

Eye drops Kromoglin to adults and children (up to 4 years with care) appoint 1-2 drops in a conjunctival sac of an eye 4 times a day (with 4-6-hour intervals). If necessary frequency rate of instillations is increased to 6-8 times a day.

Spray is usually appointed on 1 injection (a dose = 0,14 ml of solution = 2,8 mg of a kromoglikat of sodium) in each nasal course by 4 times a day. If necessary it is possible to increase frequency rate of use to 6 times. But the dose cannot be increased! For bystry achievement of therapeutic effect vasoconstrictive nasal means is in addition recommended to use the first 1-2 days. In certain cases along with Kromoglin it is reasonable to use antihistaminic drug.

After achievement of necessary therapeutic effect intervals between uses can be increased.

If the contact with allergen remains, treatment is recommended to be continued even in case of disappearance of symptoms of rhinitis. However long therapy (more than 2-4 weeks) is possible only after consultation with the doctor.

Side effects

At use of eye drops Kromoglin disturbance of clearness of visual perception, a chemosis, burning sensation and/or feeling of a foreign body in an eye, dacryagogue or a xerophthalmus, barley, and also superficial defeat of an epithelium of a cornea is possible.

At treatment by nasal spray Kromoglin at some patients arises slight passing irritation of a mucous membrane of a nasal cavity. Are in rare instances possible: cough, puffiness of language, an ulceration mucous a nose, bleeding from a nose, headaches, change of flavoring feelings, suffocation. In some cases there can be a hoarseness of a voice, throat hypostasis, a Quincke's edema.

Special instructions

During treatment by eye drops it is necessary to refrain from carrying soft contact lenses, and rigid – to remove in 15 minutes prior to instillation. During an instillation not to concern an eye pipette tip, after – densely to close a bottle.

To patients at whom after instillation sight clearness is temporarily broken some time after an instillation is recommended not to take the wheel and not to perform potentially dangerous types works.

Medicinal interaction

Eye drops reduce the need for use of the ophthalmologic medicines containing glucocorticosteroids.

At treatment by nasal spray Kromoglin reactions of interaction with other drugs were not noted.

To store at the room temperature. To protect from children.
