Liposuction

Liposuction – the bariatrichesky or cosmetology operation intended for removal by a surgical way of adiposities on certain body parts. At the same time liposuction does not treat obesity per se as does not make impact on a pathogeny of this disease. To make liposuction – does not mean to remove considerable fatty deposits. Disposal of a large amount of fat (more than five liters) is capable to cause big blood loss that does the surgical procedure hazardous to health.

The main destination of liposuction - creation of visual effect of a slim and beautiful figure by elimination of "fatty traps" on a body - focal accumulations of fat. At men they, as a rule, are located in a breast, a back, a neck. Women, in most cases aim to take away "tummy", and also to perform liposuction of hips and buttocks.

Types of liposuction

Distinguish four main types of liposuction:

The method of tumestsentny liposuction was opened in 1985 by the Californian dermatologist Jeffrey Klein. Jeffrey Klein applied infiltration of the operated zone solution which main components are lidocaine, adrenaline and an antibiotic. These ingredients reduce nerve terminations and blood vessels, allowing it is safe to remove fat and to reduce risks of emergence of infectious complications. To make liposuction a tumestsentny method means to secure itself against possible bleeding after operation, injury of nerves, vessels and connecting fabric. Use of thinner cannulas does hems hardly noticeable.

Ultrasonic liposuction is characterized by use of the expensive equipment. The essence of a method consists in use for destruction of fatty tissue not of mechanical efforts, but ultrasound. During the procedure under skin the probe transferring the ultrasonic waves liquefying fats which then can be removed with a vacuum suction is entered. Ultrasonic liposuction is used if it is required to pump out more than three liters of fat without blood losses and traumatizing skin.

According to responses, liposuction using the laser is ideal for those who are afraid of pain, emergence of hematomas and hypostases after operation. Rehabilitation after liposuction

The main myth connected with liposuction is that the patient can leave clinic at once after operation. It far not so. The first few days after liposuction, according to aware people, the person will see off in a hospital, under observation of doctors. Surgeons not only watch a condition of the patient, but also control process of its recovery after operation.

The initial stage of rehabilitation after liposuction, according to reviews, is characterized by formation of consolidations, hypostases and hilly skin in an aspiration zone. Some patients during this period complain of slight increase of body temperature, muscular spasms and pain. For decrease in their expressiveness the doctor can prescribe to the patient drugs analgetics and to reduce risks of entering of an infection – antibiotics.

Bruises and hypostases finally disappear 2-3 weeks later after operation.

Indispensable condition of rehabilitation after liposuction of a stomach or hips - wearing compression linen which promotes improvement of blood circulation and decrease in puffiness of fabrics. Besides, it tightens the relaxed skin. Compression linen is recommended to carry within the first three weeks after operation 24 hours a day, removing only in a shower which can be accepted for the fifth or sixth day after surgical intervention.

The final stage of rehabilitation (the first month after the procedure) means itself reception of the medicines reducing puffiness and use of physical therapy.

Possible complications after liposuction

In spite of the fact that liposuction is intended for elimination of cosmetic shortcomings, this procedure belongs to the category surgical that means existence of certain risks for health.

All possible undesirable effects at the patient who decided to make liposuction of hips or other problem parts of a body are subdivided on local and the general. Treat the general complications:

• Anemia. The disease can arise owing to the intraoperative loss of blood connected with a hyposensitivity to adrenaline;
• Fatty embolism and thromboembolism. Rather rare complications which (especially, the last) demand hospitalization of the patient;

Local complications are shown by the following diseases:

• Infections. For prevention of infectious complications before liposuction the patient needs to undergo careful inspection and to accept antibiotics;
• Skin necrosis. As a rule, arises at aggressive implementation of the procedure, and also at unwillingness to wear compression linen;
• Disturbance of sensitivity in influence zones. The complication can be shown owing to traumatization of nerve fibrils. Over time sensitivity of skin is recovered;
• Persistent hypostases which can be observed after liposuction of hips on their internal surface, and also in the field of a knee joint, shins and feet. The complication appears for a cause of infringement of a lymph drainage and, as a rule, passes within 1-2 months after operation.

Within 10 days before liposuction it is forbidden to smoke, take the medicine influencing coagulability of blood, hormonal and aspirinosoderzhashchy drugs.
