Супракс – the first antibiotic among cephalosporins 3 generations which can be accepted inside. It is created on the basis of a tsefiksim and possesses a wide range of activity. Unlike the previous generations of the analogs of Supraks it is steady against beta lactamelements (enzymes of bacteria which destroy an antibiotic therefore its action becomes inefficient).

According to the instruction of Supraks life activity gram-positive (various streptococci) and gram-negative (hemophilic and colibacillus, a klebsiyella, proteas, a salmonella, a shigella, a serration, a tsitrobakter, gonokokk) bacteria oppresses, but the pyocyanic stick, the majority of types of staphylococcus, enterobakter and listeriya are steady against it.

Release form

According to the instruction drug is intended for treatment of the infections caused by microorganisms, sensitive to a tsefiksim. These are tonzillofaringita, sinusitis, average otitises, acute and chronic bronchitis, pneumonia, infections of the urinogenital sphere (pyelonephritises, cystitis, an uncomplicated gonorrheal urethritis and a cervicitis). Contraindications

The antibiotic cannot be applied at intolerance and allergic reactions to it or others beta лактамные antibiotics (cephalosporins and penicillin), during feeding by a breast (for the period of treatment breastfeeding is stopped), at children up to 6 months (there are no clinical trials).

Application instruction of Supraks

Drug is accepted once a day inside. Before treatment it is desirable to investigate sensitivity of the activator to an antibiotic. To adults and children 12 years are more senior appoint Supraks in a dose of 400 mg/days (1 capsule), a course on average 7 – 10 days, it is defined by the attending physician. During the broken work of kidneys the dose should be reduced.

For children the dose is calculated on body weight - 8 mg/kg once a day or 4 mg/kg with an interval of 12 hours 2 times a day. For them there is a special children's form – suspension with taste of fresh strawberry. 1 ml of ready suspension contains 20 mg of drug.

From 6 months to 1 year a daily dose of Supraks according to the instruction of 2,5 - 4 ml, from 2 to 4 years – 5 ml, from 5 to 11 years – 6 – 10 ml.

Correctly to prepare suspension, it is necessary to stir up granules in a bottle, to pour in it in 2 stages in 40 ml of cool water, carefully shaking up every time before formation of homogeneous suspension. That granules were well dissolved, ready suspension needs to allow to stand short time. Suspension of Supraks does not demand storage in the refrigerator.

Side effects of Supraks

According to Supraks during treatment can cause urticaria, a skin itch, dryness in a mouth, nausea, stomatitis, vomiting, diarrhea, an abdominal pain, dizziness, a headache. In blood the maintenance of leukocytes and some biochemical indicators can change. From serious consequences of reception the acute anaphylaxis, pseudomembranous colitis, intersticial nephrite is possible.
