Taksoter

Taksoter – cytostatic means for treatment of tumors.

Pharmacological action

Taksoter treats group of antineoplastic drugs - toxoids. In it - dotsetakset the main active ingredient. It is received by chemical synthesis from products of natural biomass - yew evergreen needles. It is known that tumor cells lose control and begin it is unceasing to share. The mechanism of action of Taksoter is based that it breaks process of a mitosis in them, accumulating тубулин in kernel microtubules that interferes with disintegration of microtubules and according to cell division. Besides, Taksoter perniciously affects some types of the cells producing a kind of a glycoprotein which is coded by a gene of multiple resistance to chemotherapeutic means.

Effect of drug is proved on cancer cells of a mammary gland, lung, prostate, stomach, ovaries.

Taksoter is compatible to all other means of standard schemes of chemotherapy, he is used in treatment of adults. Its pharmacokinetics is well studied. Drug within 2 days generally in the form of metabolites with a stake is removed from an organism, and it is not enough – in not changed look.

Release form

Taksoter produce in glass bottles in the form of a concentrate for preparation of solution for infusions 20 mg (0,5 ml), 80 mg (2 ml) or 160 mg (8 ml) dotsetakset in a bottle. In a set there is a solvent – 13% ethanol solution in water for injections.

Indications to Taksoter's use

According to the instruction Taksoter use in complex therapy of a resectable breast cancer with damage of regional lymph nodes or without it, a metastatic or locally-spread breast cancer. Schemes of treatment of not small-celled cancer of lung in the absence of effect of therapy or in case of impossibility to carry out its resection (removal) are effective. Also Taksoter according to reviews well affects a gormonorezistentny prostate cancer and metastatic ovarian cancer when the first line of therapy was inefficient. Drug can be used in therapy of the first line of a metastatic carcinoma of the stomach and zone of transition of a stomach to a gullet.

Contraindications

Taksoter according to the instruction it is impossible to apply at the low content of neutrophilic leukocytes in blood (less 1500/mkl), in case of hypersensitivity to drug, during pregnancy, feeding by a breast and at children up to 18 years, at disturbances in work of a liver. Beginning treatment by Taksoter, it is necessary to study attentively possible contraindicated combinations with other drugs. It is important to be careful in its use along with Cyclosporine, Terfenadin, Erythromycin and group of imidazolovy antifungal means.

Application instruction of Taksoter

Taksoter is intended only for treatment in a hospital with participation of the oncologist having experience of carrying out chemotherapy. All patients before use as premedication are given glucocorticosteroids inside – they help to warn hypersensitivity reactions and reduce a liquid delay in an organism. The drug is administered intravenously kapelno in 1 hour of times in three weeks.

Taksoter's dose, as well as other antineoplastic means, is calculated on body surface area. It makes 75 – 100 mg on square meter of a surface, depending on drugs with which goes to combinations. In quality the monoterapiitaksoter according to the instruction is recommended in treatment of metastatic ovarian cancer (100 mg/sq.m once in 3 weeks). During a course of chemotherapy it is necessary to control the level of neutrophils in blood and at decrease them to 500/mkl, and also at the expressed peripheral neuropathy, the dose in the following introduction is lowered by 15 – 25 mg/sq.m.

To sustain a bottle before use at the room temperature of 5 minutes. In the conditions of an asepsis from a bottle the necessary amount of solution is taken and entered into a bottle from 5% by glucose or 0,9% sodium chloride. To mix bottle contents after compound of two solutions, carefully overturning a bottle to avoid foaming. Ready solution is good not longer than 6 hours from the moment of preparation.

Side effects of Taksoter

According to reviews Taksoter gives many side effects of various degrees of severity. Among them there is a neutropenia, anemia and thrombocytopenia, allergic and skin reactions, an asthma, an alopecia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and a lock, stomatitises, esophagites, muscular weakness and an adynamy, neurosensory reactions, muscular and joint pains.
