Biliverdin

Biliverdin (beat - lat. bilis – bile + old fr. verde – green) – the pigment of green color revealed in small amounts in fabrics and in bile of mammals; an intermediate product of disintegration of hemoglobin in marrow and in macrophages of a liver and spleen of vertebrate animals; by means of enzymes it is recovered in bilirubin.
