Biofilter

The biofilter (Greek bios – life, belonging to life, to vital processes + new lat. filtrum – felt; synonym: the bacteria bed) – the construction intended for bioscrubbling of sewage by means of their filtering through porous materials which surface is populated with the microorganisms mineralizing organic matters.
