Bostrupa phenomenon

Bostrupa phenomenon (Ch. I. Baastrup, Danish radiologist, 1885-1950; Greek phainomenon, from phainein – to do visible, to seem; synonym: Bostrupa a syndrome) – the deformation of acanthas of vertebrae developing at an excessive lumbar lordosis caused by their pressure at each other; it is shown radiological by formation of osteophytes in a zone of the bottom and upper edges of shoots, and expansion of the last down; differs in local pains in a waist at the beginning of extension of a backbone.
