Hemoglobinopathy (haemoglobinopathia; Greek hemoglobin – hemoglobin + Greek pathos – a disease, suffering; synonym: a hemoglobinosis) – the name combining group of the hereditary diseases caused by disturbances of a structure or synthesis of hemoglobin.
