Indications to use

Zovirax in the form of external use cream is appointed for the treatment of infections of skin and mucous membranes caused by a virus of a herpes simplex (Herpes simplex) of type 1 and 2 including herpes of lips.

The oculentum is applied at the keratitis caused by a virus of a herpes simplex of type 1 and 2.

Zovirax in and in the form of solution to infusions is applied in the presence of the following indications:

Treatment of the infections caused by the Varicella zoster virus (the surrounding herpes and chicken pox);
Prevention of the infections caused by a virus of a herpes simplex of type 1 and 2 at patients with an immunodeficiency.

Solution to infusions is also applied at treatment of the infections caused by a virus of a herpes simplex of type 1 and 2 (including newborns), and to prevention of a Cytomegaloviral infection at recipients of transplants of marrow.

Additional indications to reception of Zovirax in the form of tablets are:

Treatment of infections of the mucous membranes and skin caused by a virus of a herpes simplex of type 1 and 2 including genital herpes (primary and recurrent);
Treatment of patients with a heavy immunodeficiency (mainly, with the developed clinical picture AIDS, with HIV infection (at number of cells of CD4+<200/мкл), с ранними клиническими проявлениями ВИЧ-инфекции), перенесших трансплантацию костного мозга;

Contraindications

Use of Zovirax in all dosage forms contraindicated with hypersensitivity to drug components, and also to a valatsiklovir.

The feeding and pregnant women can use drug only in cases when the advantage for health of mother is higher than possible risk for the child or a fruit.

At intravenous administration and reception of Zovirax inside patients need to be careful with a renal failure, to patients with symptoms of dehydration. Route of administration and dosage

Side effects
