Sometimes self-torture which can be shown by considerable damages on a body is peculiar to children with autism. Besides, at such children the threshold of painful sensitivity is often raised, and the child can not react to rather painful irritants.

Treatment of autism:

Currently there is no way "cure" autism. Nevertheless, there is a set of methods which promote training and development of people with autism and can give them huge help.
If made to the child the diagnosis "autism", it is important to begin a therapy course at an early stage to achieve the maximum result. Doubts concerning public opinion (the child will read out from the childhood mentally retarded), but nevertheless can overcome parents, it is important to decide on early intervention. Now there are neither prophylactics of autism, nor drugs for full healing. Nevertheless, as researches testify, the room of the child with disturbance from group autism at an early stage in a special educational environment gives considerable improvements in many cases. The purpose of special programs is development of social, cognitive and colloquial skills.
