Arpetol

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 50 mg or 100 mg of arbidol of a hydrochloride.

Excipients: povidone, cellulose microcrystallic, starch corn modified (Starch 1500), magnesium stearate, aerosil, lactose monohydrate, опадрай the II white (polyvinyl alcohol, titanium dioxide, polyethyleneglycol, talc).

The antiviral means having the immunomodulatory and anti-influenza effect which is specifically suppressing viruses of A and V type, heavy acute respiratory syndrome.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Antiviral means, has immunomodulatory and anti-influenza effect, specifically suppresses viruses of A and V type, heavy acute respiratory syndrome. Interferes with contact and penetration of viruses into a cell, suppressing merge of a lipidic viral envelope to cellular membranes. Possesses interferonindutsiruyushchy action, stimulates humoral and cellular reactions of immunity, phagocytal function of macrophages, increases resistance of an organism to viral infections. Reduces the frequency of development of the complications connected with a viral infection and also exacerbations of chronic bacterial diseases.

The therapeutic effectiveness at viral infections is shown in decrease in expressiveness of the general intoxication and the clinical phenomena, reduction of duration of a disease.

Treats low-toxic drugs. Does not make any negative impact on a human body at oral administration in the recommended doses.

Pharmacokinetics. It is quickly absorbed and distributed on bodies and fabrics. The maximum concentration in a blood plasma at reception in a dose of 50 mg is reached in 1,2 h, in a dose of 100 mg – in 1,5 h. It is metabolized in a liver. The elimination half-life is equal 17-21 h. About 40% are removed in an invariable look, generally with bile (38,9%) and in insignificant quantity kidneys (0,12%). Within the first days 90% of the entered dose are removed.

Indications to use:

Prevention and treatment at adults and children:

- the flu caused by viruses A and B, acute respiratory viral infections, a heavy acute respiratory syndrome (including complicated by bronchitis, pneumonia);
- secondary immunodeficiency;
- complex therapy of chronic bronchitis, pneumonia and recurrent herpes infection.

Prevention of postoperative infectious complications and normalization of the immune status.

Complex therapy of acute intestinal infections of a rotavirusny etiology at children is more senior than 3 years.

Route of administration and doses:

Inside, before meal. Single dose: to children from 3 to 6 years - 50 mg, from 6 to 12 years - 100 mg, are more senior than 12 years and adult – 200 mg (2 tablets on 100 mg or 4 tablets on 50 mg).

For nonspecific prevention. At direct contact with patients with flu and other acute respiratory viral infections: 
- to children from 3 to 6 years – on 50 mg, from 6 to 12 years – on 100 mg, 12 years and the adult – on 200 mg once a day within 10-14 days are more senior.

For the prevention of exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, a recurrence of a herpes infection in the period of a flu epidemic and other acute respiratory viral infections:
- to children from 3 to 6 years – on 50 mg, from 6 to 12 years – on 100 mg, 12 years and the adult – on 200 mg two times a week within 3 weeks are more senior.

For prevention of a heavy acute respiratory syndrome (at contact with patients):
- children are from 6 to 12 years old po100 mg, to adults and children 12 years on 200 mg once a day (to food), within 12-14 days are more senior.

Prevention of postoperative complications:
- to children from 3 to 6 years – on 50 mg, from 6 to 12 years – on 100 mg, 12 years and the adult – on 200 mg in 2 days prior to operation, then for the 2 and 5 days after operation are more senior.

For treatment. Flu, other acute respiratory viral infections without complications:
- to children from 3 to 6 years – on 50 mg, from 6 to 12 years – on 100 mg, 12 years and the adult – on 200 mg 4 times a day (each 6 hours) within 5 days are more senior

Flu, other acute respiratory viral infections with development of complications (bronchitis, pneumonia, etc.):
- to children from 3 to 6 years – on 50 mg, from 6 to 12 years – on 100 mg, 12 years and the adult – on 200 mg 4 times a day (each 6 hours) within 5 days, then a single dose once a week within 4 weeks are more senior.

Heavy acute respiratory syndrome:
- to children 12 years and the adult – on 200 mg 2 times a day within 8-10 days are more senior.

In complex treatment of chronic bronchitis, a herpes infection:
- to children from 3 to 6 years - on 50 mg, from 6 to 12 years – on 100 mg, 12 years and the adult – on 200 mg 4 times a day (each 6 hours) within 5-7 days, then a single dose 2 times a week within 4 weeks are more senior.

Complex therapy of acute intestinal infections of a rotavirusny etiology at children is more senior than 3 years:
- to children from 3 to 6 years – on 50 mg, from 6 to 12 years – on 100 mg, 12 years – on 200 mg 4 times a day (each 6 hours) within 5 days are more senior.

Features of use:

Does not show the central neurotropic activity and it can be applied in medical practice in the preventive purposes at almost healthy faces of various professions including requiring special attention and coordination of movements (drivers of transport, operators, etc.).

Side effects:

Allergic reactions are possible.

Interaction with other medicines:

At appointment with other medicines of negative effects it is noted.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to drug components, age up to 3 years.

Overdose:

It is noted.

Storage conditions:

In the place protected from moisture and light at a temperature not above 25 °C. To store in the places protected from children. Period of storage 2 years.
