Description:
The postoperative period — time from the moment of removal of the patient from the operating table to a wound repair and disappearance of the frustration caused by an operational injury. The uncomplicated postoperative period usually proceeds 8 — 12 days; duration of the postoperative period increases if the patient is sharply weakened and exhausted, and especially if postoperative complications develop. Medical staff tasks during the postoperative period — fight against the frustration caused by operation, the prevention of possible complications and their treatment if they arise. All this is reached by attentive observation, patient care and performance of a number of medical actions on doctor's orders.
The postoperative period — time of stay of the patient in a hospital from the moment of the end of operation and to an extract from medical institution. Understand time necessary not only for healing of an operational wound, elimination of postoperative frustration and complications as Pct more widely, but also for full adaptation of an organism to the new anatomo-physiological ratios created by operation. The treatment which is carried out after an extract is designated the term "aftercare".
In the first days of Pct apply a complex of medical and guarding actions to acceleration of recovery and improvement of results of operational treatment: bed rest, soothing, hypnagogues. Since 3 — the 4th day, stimulate the main functions of an organism (drug treatment, physical therapy, physiotherapy exercises and so forth) taking into account specific features of the patient, the nature of a disease, age, weight of an operative measure etc. the Pct is characterized by existence of some disturbances, natural after certain operations. At a normal postoperative current these disturbances do not cause heavy functional frustration (uncomplicated Pct). When the operational injury leads to essential pathophysiological shifts, in Pct there are these or those postoperative complications of local and general character.
