Description:


Mallori's syndrome — Weis (on MKB-10: a gastroesophagal razryvno-gemorragichesky syndrome) — the superficial ruptures of a mucous membrane of belly department of a gullet and cardial department of a stomach at recurrent vomiting which are followed by bleeding.


Symptoms of the Syndrome of Mallori-Veyss:


There is vomiting blood (hematemesis). Bleeding seldom happens intensive. Also it can be shown in the form of a melena

Reasons of the Syndrome of Mallori-Veyss:


The frequent reason — alcoholism or reception of a large number of food. There are some proofs that existence of hernia of an esophageal opening of a diaphragm — the contributing factor.


Treatment of the Syndrome of Mallori-Veyss:


In most cases bleeding stops independently within 24 — 48 hours. Most often rather conservative treatment: apply cold, antacids, stimulators of coagulant system of blood, aminocapronic acid inside.
Sometimes endoscopic treatment is required. At impossibility of an endoscopic stop of bleeding or its recurrence an operative measure is shown — the gastrotomy, underrunning of ruptures of a mucous membrane of cardial department of a stomach, sometimes in addition tie up the left gastric artery.
The lethal outcome occurs seldom.
