General characteristics. Structure:

International and chemical name: lactulose; 4-O (r-V-galaktopiranozil) - V-Arabin-geks-2-ulofuranoza; main physical and chemical properties: transparent, viscous liquid, colourless or weak brownish-yellow color;
Structure: 1 ml of syrup contains 0,667 g of lactulose.

Pharmacological properties:

Биофлоракс finds aperient, hyperosmotic, the gipoamoniyemichna stimulating an intestines peristaltics action normalizes intestinal microflora, improves absorbability of phosphates and salts of calcium, promotes removal of decomposition products of protein.    Биофлоракс - disaccharide, is a medium for lactobacilli (Laktobacillus acidophilus, Laktobacillus bifidus) and promotes their development and reproduction. Under the influence of microflora of a large intestine there is a drug hydrolysis, to formation of low-molecular organic acids (milk, acetic, ant). At the same time osmotic pressure increases and decreases рН in a gleam of a large intestine that leads to strengthening of an intestinal vermicular movement and increase in volume of fecal masses, and also to migration of ammonia from blood in intestines and its transformations in ammonium ion, is badly soaked up and brought out of an organism at development aperient actions. Drug suppresses education and absorption of the toxins containing nitrogen in proximal department of a large intestine, ammonium ion in blood reduces contents and reduces expressiveness of hepatic encephalopathy, suppresses growth of proteolytic microorganisms, including shigellas, salmonellas.

Pharmacokinetics. At intake drug is practically not absorbed in upper parts of digestive tract, metabolized in intestines. Metabolites are removed with a stake during 24-48 h, no more than 3% of drug in not changed look are removed with urine.

Indications to use:

Chronic and situational locks (in t. h at hemorrhoids, need of surgical intervention on a large intestine and/or an anus), postoperative atonic locks, a pain syndrome after removal of hemorrhoidal nodes, hepatic encephalopathy, a liver failure, a hepatic coma and a prekoma, chronic active hepatitis, a giperammoniyemiya, intoxications of various etiology, an intestinal dysbiosis, putrefactive dyspepsia, a salmonellonositelstvo.

Route of administration and doses:

At a lock, a pain syndrome after removal of hemorrhoidal nodes, putrefactive dyspepsias are appointed in the first 3 days inside: the adult on 15-45 ml (1-3 tablespoons) once a day, to children till 1 year appoint 5 ml (1 teaspoon) of 1 times a day, from 1 to 6 years - on 5-10 ml (1-2 teaspoons) of 1 times a day, 6 years - on 15 ml (1 tablespoon) of 1 times a day are more senior. Then appoint a maintenance dose: the adult on 15 ml (1 tablespoon) once a day, to children till 1 year appoint 5 ml (1 teaspoon) of 1 times a day, from 1 to 6 years - on 5-10 ml (1 - 2 teaspoons) of 1 times a day, 6 years - on 10 ml (2 teaspoons) of 1 times a day are more senior. The course of treatment makes from 1-4 weeks to 3-4 months.
At a salmonellonositelstvo appoint in the first 10-12 days 5 ml (1 teaspoon) 3 times a day, after a week break on 5 ml (1 teaspoon) of 5 times a day within 10-12 days.
At a liver failure, a coma and a prekoma, encephalopathy, and also chronic hepatitis, a giperammoniyemiya, intoxications of various etiology, dysbacteriosis appoint inside at first 30-60 ml (2-4 tablespoons) 3 times a day, then, as a rule, after 7 - 14 days of use, appoint a maintenance dose on 10-25 ml (2-5 teaspoons) 2-3 times a day. The course of treatment makes up to 3 months.
To patients with a hepatic coma or peredkomatozny a state appoint rektalno on 300 ml of syrup in 700 ml of water or isotonic solution of sodium of chloride, and enter through a rectal balloon catheter and hold 30-60 min. If necessary each 4-6 h repeat.
At intake drug can be dissolved with water or juice, except for grapefruit. The effect is observed in 24 - 48 h.

Features of use:

In an initiation of treatment of a liver failure, a coma and a prekoma, encephalopathy, chronic active hepatitis, a giperammoniyemiya, intoxications of various etiology at achievement of laxative effect the maintenance dose is appointed so that it provided defecation with a stake of the softened consistence 2-3 times a day. Elderly people and patients with mental disturbances are recommended to control at prolonged treatment the content of electrolytes in blood. With care appoint a sick diabetes mellitus, because of existence in composition of sugar, it is soaked up. Drug can be used during pregnancy and feeding by a breast, and also newborns and children of early age. At emergence of diarrhea drug is cancelled.

Side effects:

In the first days of use there can be a meteorism and the increased gas generation, treatments disappearing independently after 2-3 days, at treatment of hepatic encephalopathy - temporary diarrhea, nausea, enterospasms are also possible. Frequent use of drug in high doses, especially at patients of advanced age, can cause diarrhea with disturbance of water and electrolytic balance.

Interaction with other medicines:

Simultaneous use of Neomycinum and antiacid means inhibits Biofloraksu's action. It is not recommended to accept drug within 2 hours after reception of other medicines.

Contraindications:

Galactosemia, intestinal impassability, hypersensitivity to lactulose, rectal bleedings. It is not recommended to use drug for treatment of the hepatic coma caused by hepatitis.

Overdose:

Diarrhea with the subsequent dehydration, a hypopotassemia and a hyponatremia which pass at drug withdrawal or a dose decline is possible. It is necessary to appoint therapy on recovery of water and electrolytic balance.

Storage conditions:

To store in the place, unavailable to children. To store in in the dry, protected from light place at a temperature of 15 °C of -25 °C. A period of validity - 2 years.
