Description:
Reticulocytosis, reticulocytosis, is, f — increase in maintenance of reticulocytes (unripe erythrocytes) of peripheral blood (more than 1% of number of all erythrocytes); a sign of the strengthened erythrogenesis (development of blood cells).
Reticulocytosis symptoms:
Reticulocytes are an important indicator of regenerator ability of marrow. Increase them in peripheral blood (reticulocytosis) is noted at hemolitic anemias when their number can reach 60% and more (especially strongly increasing at hemolitic crises), at acute blood losses (for 3 – 5 days after blood loss there is reticulocytic crisis), malaria, a polycythemia, at treatment by iron of iron deficiency anemias, in several days (3 - 10) after the beginning of antianemic treatment of pernicious anemia, at an acute shortage of oxygen. Existence of the increased quantity of reticulocytes allows to suspect the concealed hemorrhage (for example, at patients with a typhoid, a peptic ulcer).
It is considered that increase in quantity of reticulocytes in peripheral blood is expression of good regeneration only if at the same time there is a reticulocytosis and in marrow that is called a true reticulocytosis. Lack of the increased quantity of reticulocytes in marrow at increase in their quantity in peripheral blood speaks about strengthening of washing away of reticulocytes from marrow in peripheral blood (a false reticulocytosis).
The reticulocytosis, without the corresponding erythronormoblastic reaction of marrow, is observed at irritation of certain sites by its cancer metastasises or the inflammatory centers.
Reticulocytosis reasons:
1. Hemolitic anemias, at a razvivitiya of an erythroidal hyperplasia;
2. Acute loss of blood;
3. Tumoral metastasises in a brain;
4. Recovery of earlier damaged erythrogenesis, for example, reticulocytic crisis after an initiation of treatment B12 vitamin.
Treatment of the Reticulocytosis:
Carry out treatment of a basic disease.
