Furacilin of 0,02%

General characteristics. Structure:

Acting veshchestvo:0,2 with of Furacilin, 9 g of sodium of chloride.

Excipients: water for injections – to 1 l.

Antimicrobic means.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Antimicrobic means from group of derivatives of nitrofuran. Has bacteriostatic action on gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (staphylococcus, streptococci, colibacillus, proteas, a salmonella, an escherichia), and also on a trichomonad and a lyambliya. The microorganisms steady against antibiotics and streptocides are sensitive to Furacilin. Resistance to Furacilin develops slowly and does not reach high degree.

Pharmacokinetics. Furacilin is removed from an organism with urine within 24 hours. The maximum concentration in urine is reached in 6 hours after reception, then begins to decrease gradually.

Indications to use:

- purulent contaminated wounds, decubituses, ulcers;
- the infected burns of II and III degrees;
- preparation of the granulating surface for skin transplantations;
- osteomyelitis; - pleura empyema;
- dysentery;
- mephitic gangrene of a wound surface;
- furuncle of outside acoustical pass;
- empyema of adnexal bosoms of a nose;
- conjunctivitis.

Route of administration and doses:

At purulent wounds, decubituses, ulcers, burns of II and III degrees, for preparation of the granulating surface for skin transplantations and for a secondary seam irrigate a wound with aqueous solution of Furacilin and apply water dressings.

At osteomyelitis after operation wash out a cavity aqueous solution of Furacilin and apply water dressing.

At an empyema of a pleura suck away pus, wash out a pleural cavity with the subsequent introduction to a cavity of 20-100 ml of aqueous solution of Furacilin.

At a mephitic gangrene in addition to usual surgical intervention, the wound is processed aqueous solution of Furacilin. At conjunctivitis and scrofulous diseases of eyes in a conjunctival sac dig in aqueous solution of Furacilin.

Side effects:

At external use Furacilin is usually well transferred. The dermatitis demanding a temporary break or the termination of administration of drug is in some cases possible.

Contraindications:

- the expressed renal failures;
- allergic dermatosis;
- hypersensitivity to nitrofuran derivatives.

Storage conditions:

List B. In the dry, protected from light place at a temperature not above 25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children. Period of validity 2 years.
