KOLIBAKTERIN – BIOFARM

General characteristics. Structure:

Quantitative and qualitative structure. Kolibakterin – Biofarm presents the microbic lyophilicly dried up mass of live bacteria of colibacillus (Escherichia so1_ to M17). One dose of drug contains not less than 6·109   live bacteria of colibacillus.

Main properties: powder (crystal or porous weight) of yellow color of various intensity with a specific smell and taste. At addition of water forms a homogeneous suspension.

Pharmacological properties:

The therapeutic effect of a kolibakterin is defined by the live bacteria of M17 colibacillus having antagonistic activity in relation to pathogenic and opportunistic microorganisms, and, thereby, normalizing intestinal microflora.

Indications to use:

Kolibakterin – Biofarm is intended for treatment of adults and children, since 6-month age, at the long and chronic course of dysentery, post-dysenteric colitis, an aftercare of convalescents after acute intestinal infections, at long intestinal dysfunction of an unspecified etiology, at nonspecific and specific chronic colitis and coloenterites, in the presence of dysfunctions and dysbacteriosis.

Route of administration and doses:

Drug is used inside in the form of solution.

Before use contents of a bottle are dissolved in boiled water of room temperature. For this purpose in a glass pour water at the rate of 1 teaspoon of water on 1 dose of drug (the quantity of doses is specified on the label), then transfer a part of water from a glass to a bottle for dissolution to drug. Drug is dissolved no more than 5 minutes. Further contents of a bottle are transferred to a glass from the rest of water and mixed (1 teaspoon of the solution received in a glass is equivalent to 1 dose of drug). The necessary number of teaspoons of solution (drug doses) drink in 30-40 minutes prior to food 2-3 times a day.

Daily doses of drug for adults and children make:

- to children from 6 months to one year – 2-3 doses;

- to children from a year to 3 years – 3-4 doses;

- to children from 3rd to 5 years – 4-6 doses;

- to children from 5 to 10 years – 6-8 doses;

- to children is more senior than 10 years – 8-10 doses;

- the adult – 10-12 doses.

Daily doses of drug divide into 2-3 receptions.

Use duration:

- at the long and chronic course of dysentery, post-dysenteric colitis, an aftercare of convalescents after acute intestinal infections, and also at long intestinal dysfunction of not established etiology - not less than 4-6 weeks;

- at nonspecific and specific chronic colitis and coloenterites - for 1.5-2 months;

- at dysbacterioses of various etiology - 3-4 weeks.

For fixing of the gained clinical effect or in case of incomplete normalization of microflora in 10-14 days after the termination of the first course of treatment it is possible to appoint the supporting course. At the same time drug is used in a half single and daily dose within 1-1.5 months.

At the diseases proceeding with a recurrence repeated courses of treatment are reasonable. In these cases before purpose of drug the repeated research of microflora is necessary.

Features of use:

Drug dissolution by hot water and its storage in the dissolved state is inadmissible. In need of use of contents of a bottle in stages, a necessary part is separated a dry pure subject (a spoon, other) and used, and the rest of drug is stored in the bottle which is densely closed by a stopper in the refrigerator before the following receptions.

Use during pregnancy or feeding by a breast. It is not established contraindications to drug use of pregnancy and feedings by a breast in time.

Side effects:

It is not revealed.

Interaction with other medicines:

Treatment is recommended to be accompanied with use of vitamins.

Contraindications:

Contraindications to use of drug it is not established. Drug is not appointed to children to 6-month age.

Storage conditions:

In the dry, protected from light place at a temperature from 2 °C to 8 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children.
