General characteristics. Structure:

Active agent: a butamirata citrate (in terms of 100% substance) – 100 mg;

Excipients: sorbitol (Neosorb 70/70 B, sorbitic syrup) 8100 mg, глицерол (glycerin) of 5800 mg, ethanol of 96% (alcohol) of 60 mg, sodium saccharinate of 23 mg, the benzoic acid of 23 mg, vanillin of 23 mg, hydroxide sodium solution of 30% (sodium a hydroxide) 10 mg, the water purified to 20 ml.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Antibechic not opioid means, has a direct impact on the tussive center. Renders antibechic, expectorant, moderate bronkhodilatiruyushchy and antiinflammatory action, improves spirometry indicators (reduces resistance of respiratory tracts) and blood oxygenation.

Pharmacokinetics. Absorption. After priyembra inside drug is quickly and completely soaked up from digestive tract. After reception of 150 mg of a butamirat the maximum concentration of the main metabolite (2-phenyl-butyric acid) in a blood plasma is reached approximately in 1,5 hours and makes 6,4 mkg/ml.

Distribution and metabolism. Hydrolysis of a butamirat originally to 2-phenyl-butyric acid and dietilaminoetoksi-ethanol begins in blood. These metabolites also have antibechic activity, and, like a butamirat, for 95% contact proteins of plasma. It caused a long elimination half-life of drug from plasma. 2-phenyl-butyric acid is partially metabolized by a hydroxylation. At repeated administration of drug of cumulation it is not observed.

Removal. The elimination half-life makes 6 hours. All three metabolites are removed mainly with urine. And, 2-phenyl-butyric acid is generally removed in the look connected with glucuronic acid.

Indications to use:

Dry cough of any etiology, cough during the preoperative and postoperative period, cough during surgical interventions and a bronkhoskopiya, whooping cough.

Route of administration and doses:

Inside, before food.
To children aged from 2 do12 months - on 10 drops 4 times a day; from 1 year to 3 years - on 15 drops 4 times a day; 3 years - on 25 drops 4 times a day are more senior.

Features of use:

Drug can be used a sick diabetes mellitus as as sweetener sucrose or glucose is not used.

Influence on ability of driving and work with mechanisms
In case of development at administration of drug of dizziness it is recommended to refrain from control of vehicles and the performance of work demanding the increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions (owing to possible development of dizziness).

Side effects:

From the central nervous system: less than 1% of cases – the dizziness passing at cancellation of administration of drug or a dose decline.
From the alimentary system: nausea, diarrhea.
Allergic reaktsii:kozhny rash, itch.
Others: dieback.

Interaction with other medicines:

It is noted.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to drug components, pregnancy (the I trimester), the breastfeeding period. Children's age up to 2 months.

Use of drug at pregnancy and during breastfeeding
In pilot studies of undesirable impact of drug on a fruit it is not revealed. Clinical trials of safety of use of drug were not conducted in this connection drug should not be used in the I trimester of pregnancy.
Penetration of drug into breast milk was not studied therefore purpose of drug during breastfeeding is not recommended.

Overdose:

Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, diarrhea, dizziness, lowering of arterial pressure, balance loss.
Treatment: absorbent carbon, salt laxatives, symptomatic therapy (according to indications).

Storage conditions:

At a temperature not above 25 °C.
To store in the place, unavailable to children.
