Miconazolum

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 300 mg of Miconazolum of nitrate in 15 g of cream.

Excipients: propylene glycol, poly(ethylene oxide) 400, cetostearyl alcohol, proksanol-268, drug OS-20.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Miconazolum has fungicidal effect on dermatophytes (Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Eridermophyton floccosum, Microsporum canis), barmy and drozhzhepodobny mushrooms (Candida albicans, etc.), and also other pathogenic fungi (Malassezia furfur, Aspergillus niger, Penicillium crustaceum, etc.).

Miconazolum nitrate inhibits biosynthesis of ergosterol and changes lipidic structure of a membrane, causing death of a cell of a mushroom. Miconazolum has the antibacterial effect which was more expressed concerning gram-positive bacteria (stafilokokk, streptococci, etc.) and less expressed concerning gram-negative bacteria (colibacillus, a pyocyanic stick, a protea, etc.).

Drug has moderate giperosmolyarny activity owing to what has anti-exudative effect.

Pharmacokinetics. System absorption of drug at external use is very low. Quickly collapses in a liver.

Indications to use:

The fungal infections of skin and nail plates caused by dermatophytes or barmy mushrooms: Candida, Trichophyton, Epidermophyton, Malassezia furfur; the mixed fungal or fungal and bacterial infections of skin; secondary infection of skin with gram-positive microorganisms.

Route of administration and doses:

Cream is slightly rubbed in affected areas of skin by 2 times a day, in the morning and in the evening. Apply before total disappearance of symptoms, and some more days for the purpose of the prevention of a recurrence. In the course of therapy carry out mycologic control which results determine treatment duration.

At treatment of onychomycoses after preliminary peeling of the struck nail plate cream is applied with a thin layer on a nail bed by 1-2 times a day with the subsequent imposing of an occlusive bandage. Treatment is performed continuously before final formation of a new nail plate (not less than 3 months).

Features of use:

If at treatment hypersensitivity reactions drug appear it is necessary to cancel. It is impossible to allow hits of drug in eyes. Cream at topical administration is not soaked up, and can be used during pregnancy and a lactation.

At damage of nails it is necessary to cut off them as it is possible well.

At defeat of feet carefully to process interdigital intervals.

Side effects:

Drug is usually well transferred. In rare instances allergic skin reactions and burning sensation can take place.

Interaction with other medicines:

It is not recommended to apply along with other ointments or creams.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to Miconazolum, a liver and/or renal failure. To children up to 3 years cream is appointed under control of the doctor.

Storage conditions:

In protected from light, the place, unavailable to children, at a temperature not above 25 °C. A period of validity - 2 years. Drug should be used before the date specified on packaging.
