Sage tincture

General characteristics. Structure:

Main physical and chemical properties: transparent liquid of greenish-brown color, with a specific fragrant smell; at storage formation of a deposit is allowed.
Structure: 1 bottle contains tinctures of leaves of a sage (1:5) — 40 ml.
Excipient: alcohol of ethyl 70%.

Pharmacological properties:

Biological active agents which contain in sage leaves (essential oil, tannins, saponins, phytoncides, pitches) show the antimicrobic, antiinflammatory, knitting, disinfecting actions.

Indications to use:

At an inflammation of mucous membranes of an oral cavity, gums (stomatitis, an ulitis, periodontosis), drinks, almonds (pharyngitis, quinsy), upper respiratory tracts and at contaminated wounds, cuts, skin burns.

Route of administration and doses:

Outwardly — for rinsing of an oral cavity in the form of freshly cooked solution: 1 teaspoon of a sage of tincture is parted in a glass of warm boiled water. For local applications part 20–60 drops of tincture in 100 ml of isotonic solution of sodium of chloride. Duration of treatment makes 7–14 days.

Features of use:

Before use of the Sage tincture needs to be shaken up!

Side effects:

 At individual hypersensitivity to components of drug development of allergic reactions (erubescence, rashes, an itch , etc.) is possible.

Interaction with other medicines:

Sage tincture strengthens effect of other anti-inflammatory drugs.

Contraindications:

The increased individual sensitivity to any of drug components.

Overdose:

It is improbable.

Storage conditions:

To store at a temperature of 8-15 °C   in protected from light and the place, unavailable to children. At storage possible formation of a deposit. A period of validity — 3 years.
