Bronkhotsin

General characteristics. Structure:

Active agents:

100 g of syrup contain: Glautsina hydrobromide (100%) - 0,10 g; ephedrine a hydrochloride (100%) - 0,08 g; basilic oil - 0,10 g.

1 teaspoon contains: a glautsina hydrobromide (100%) - 5 mg; ephedrine a hydrochloride (100%) - 4 mg; basilic oil - 5 mg.

One bottle of syrup (125 g) contains: 25 teaspoons.

Excipients: sugar, citric acid, polysorbate 80, methyl-parahydroxybenzoate, пропилпарагидроксибензоат, alcohol, the distilled water.

Description

Bronkhotsin represents transparent, colourless or yellowish siropoobrazny liquid with bitter-sweet taste and a haraterny smell of a basil.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Bronkhotsin represents the combined drug with antibechic and bronchodilatory action. It makes combined effect on respiratory and the central nervous system that does it by means of the choice at treatment of cough of various etiology. Glautsina hydrobromide has overwhelming effect on the center of cough, without influencing breath. Possesses both weak bronkhospazmolitichesky and sekretolitichesky action.

Ephedrine excites breath, expands bronchial tubes and reduces hypostasis of their mucous membrane.

Oil of a basil renders the antiinflammatory, anesthetizing and weak antiseptic action, calms a nervous system.

Pharmacokinetics. Glautsin and Efedrin are well soaked up in a digestive tract, creating and supporting necessary therapeutic levels in a blood plasma. Are allocated, mainly, with urine.

Indications to use:

Drug is used in complex therapy at treatment of acute and chronic bronchitis, a tracheobronchitis, bronchial asthma, whooping cough for elimination of symptoms of cough and a bronkhokonstriktion.

Route of administration and doses:

Inside. The adult - on 1 tablespoon 3-4 times a day. To children 3 years - on 1 teaspoon 3 times a day are more senior. To children 10 years - on the 2nd teaspoons 3 times a day are more senior.

Side effects:

Side effect is result, mainly, of effect of ephedrine: increase in arterial pressure, heartbeat, the increased nervous irritability, perspiration, difficulty of an urination, a mydriasis. Reduces appetite.

Interaction with other medicines:

At the combined use of ephedrine with inhibitors of a monoaminooxidase there can come heavy hypertensive crises because of suppression of metabolism of these angiotonic substances. Ephedrine weakens action of opioid analgetics and other means, the oppressing TsNS. At simultaneous use with non-selective beta adrenoblockers broncholitic effect of drug decreases.

Contraindications:

Coronary heart disease, hyperthyroidism. Hypersensitivity to drug components. Children's age up to 3 years.

Preventions
• In spite of the fact that Bronkhotsin does not cause accustoming, considering composition of drug, with care to appoint to the patients inclined to development of medicinal dependence;
• Availability of ephedrine requires special attention at purpose of drug to hypertensive persons as it causes narrowing of peripheral vessels;
• It is not recommended to appoint drug a sick diabetes mellitus as the ephedrine applied in the doses exceeding therapeutic raises a metabolism, leading, thus, to increase in level of sugar of blood;
• Use in high doses is not recommended to drivers.

Pregnancy and feeding by a breast

Regardless of the fact that there are no data on embriotoksichesky and teratogenic effects, drug use to pregnant women and the feeding women is possible only in that case when the expected advantage for mother exceeds potential risk for a fruit or the baby.

Overdose:

In case of administration of drug in the doses exceeding appointed the doctor the overdose which symptom is excitement, fever, sleeplessness, a diarrhea can be observed. The ephedrine applied in high doses leads to increase in level of sugar in blood. The lethal peroral dose of ephedrine makes 1,0 g. Symptomatic treatment.

Storage conditions:

In the place protected from light, at a temperature of 8 - 25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children! A period of validity 4 years of date of production. Not to use after a period of validity!
