Септисепт

General characteristics. Structure:

Active agent: 2,5 mg chloride cetylpyridinium;

Other components: sorbitol, magnesium stearate, menthol, mint oil.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Септисепт has local antiseptic, antiinflammatory and tonic effect. Shows bactericidal action against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, mushrooms (Candida albicans) and some viruses, does not influence mycobacteria. Cetylpyridinia blocks enzymatic systems of a bacterium, thus inhibiting her metabolism, influences mechanisms of its cytoadhesion, increases permeability and destroys a cytoplasmic membrane of microorganisms. In poorly alkaline to the environment cetylpyridinium chloride is in the ionized form that defines its efficiency; at рН below the 3rd medicine completely loses activity.
Септисепт does not include sugar therefore it can be applied a sick diabetes mellitus.

Pharmacokinetics. Септисепт works locally therefore cetylpyridinia are almost not soaked up in digestive tract. Chim is lower рН than a gastric juice, especially active ingredient is inactivated. From an organism it is removed in an invariable look.

Indications to use:

Infectious and inflammatory diseases of an oral cavity and throat (pharyngitis, laryngitis, catarral quinsy, ulitis, stomatitis).

Route of administration and doses:

The tablet is rassasyvat slowly (do not chew and do not get to the core). Adults and children are more senior than 12 years – on 1 tablet of each 1 - 2 hour, children from 6 to 12 years – on 1 tablet each 2 - 3 hour.
The maximum daily dose for adults – 6 tablets, for children – 4 tablets.
Course of treatment – 3 - 5 days.

Features of use:

Use of a large number of tablets, than is recommended, does not increase efficiency of medicine, and on the contrary, can cause irritation of a mucous membrane of an oral cavity and diarrhea (especially in children). Pregnancy and lactation
Data about influence of medicine on a germ and health of the pregnant woman are absent. Therefore it is not reasonable to Septisept to apply during pregnancy and a lactation.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to cetylpyridinium or other components of drug, sensitivity of fructose. Children's age up to 6 years.

Overdose:

Symptoms: nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
Treatment: symptomatic. The recommended uses of water in large quantities or milk.

Storage conditions:

To store in unavailable to children, the dry place at a temperature not above 25 °C.
