Catarral quinsy is a type of quinsy, the general acute infectious disease with local manifestations in the form of an inflammation of palatine tonsils.
Symptoms of Catarral quinsy:
Catarral quinsy sometimes is followed by more expressed general phenomena, high fever. Then usually and local inflammatory process differs in bigger intensity: the considerable swelling, a loosening and reddening of almonds which is followed by strong swelling of lymph nodes is observed. Small children have all phenomena including temperature reaction, are usually expressed more sharply, than at adults. Duration of a disease of 3 — 5 days then or all phenomena disappear, or quinsy passes into a druguyuforma (lacunary, follicular).
Reasons of Catarral quinsy:
Catarral quinsy is reaction to various physical, chemical or bacterial irritants: influence of bacteria or their toxins, cooling, dust, burns, unlimited alcohol intake, smoking, etc. This type of quinsy quite often precedes deeper defeats of almonds (follicular, lacunary). The catarral phenomena can be as well one of symptoms of some infectious diseases (scarlet fever, measles, flu, an ugly face, acute Qatar of upper respiratory tracts, etc.). In most cases is the most easily proceeding quinsy form which is characterized by defeat preferential of a cover of almonds.
Treatment of Catarral quinsy:
First of all, the patient needs to be isolated, separate ware and objects of leaving is allocated to him. In the first days while high temperature keeps, the high bed rest is necessary. The diet has to be digestible, not irritating, preferential milk and vegetable, vitamin-rich. Plentiful drink is recommended: warm sweet tea with a lemon, the warmed-up fruit juice, mineral water in quantity to 1,5l. Frequent drink promotes removal of the toxic products collecting in an organism, especially in the period of high temperature.
Considering the bacterial nature of a disease, prescription of antibiotics is necessary.
