Фенюльс® Complex

General characteristics. Structure:

Active agent: gland (III) of hydroxide polymaltose complex equivalent to 50 mg of element iron
Excipients: methylparahydroxybenzoate, пропилпарагидроксибензоат, dinatrium эдетат, the solution of sorbitol of 70% (crystallizing), Butter Scotch fragrance, Acidum hydrochloricum, sodium hydroxide, the water purified.

Description: solution of dark brown color with a characteristic smell.

Pharmacological properties:

Antianemic effect of drug is caused by availability of iron (III) in structure iron - hydroxide of a polymaltose complex.
Iron, being a part of numerous cellular structures and participating in activity of many enzymatic systems (a tsitokhroma, a catalase and др), plays a very important role in transport of oxygen and oxidizing metabolic processes, and also is an important element of a human body which is especially necessary for formation of hemoglobin. Content of iron in an organism is supported at the constant level, thanks to regulation of process of its absorption and loss. At the increased loss and/or insufficient receipt in an organism with food, absorption disturbance, inborn deficit of iron the negative balance of iron with reduction of its stocks and development of an iron deficiency anemia forms. The increased needs for iron are observed during active growth at children's age and the pubertal period.

Pharmacokinetics. Absorption. Gland - hydroxide the polymaltose complex is similar on structure to natural compound of iron with ferritin from which iron is actively soaked up in blood in the natural way, at the same time the possibility of intoxication is excluded by drug. Iron is soaked up, mainly, from 12-perstny and a jejunum. Absorption varies substantially and depends on iron reserves in an organism and physiological requirements. At iron deficiency states its absorption amplifies. Total quantity of the assimilated iron increases in an organism with increase in its dose. Time of achievement of the maximum concentration in blood makes 1 - 2 hour.
Distribution. After absorption the main part of iron contacts transferrin and is transported in marrow where it is taken erythrogenesis cells for hemoglobin synthesis; other part contains in blood and is deposited in bodies in the form of ferritin, hemosiderin or a myoglobin.
Removal. The insignificant amount of iron is brought out of an organism after cyclic destruction of a molecule of hemoglobin.

Indications to use:

- Treatment of clinically expressed and latent iron deficiency anemia at children.
- Prevention of an iron deficiency anemia at children.

Route of administration and doses:

The daily dose a drop of Fenyuls®kompleks should be taken for 1 or 2 receptions at once after food. Drops are admissible to be mixed with fruit and vegetable juice or with artificial nutritious mixes, without being afraid of drug decrease of the activity. The following mode of dosing depending on the body weight of the child is recommended.

Prolonged treatment. Duration of treatment depends on degree of manifestation of an iron deficiency anemia, and it has to be carried out before normalization of a hemoglobin content in blood serum, usually not less than 2-3 months. After normalization of level of hemoglobin for recovery of internal reserves of iron therapy can be continued within several weeks using the doses recommended for prevention of deficit of iron.

Features of use:

Use of drug for children with body weight less than 5 kg since they need purpose of smaller doses that is not provided by the measured device is not recommended. The drug Fenyuls® Drop Complex should be accepted in 1 hour prior to or in 2 hours after reception of the products or other drugs worsening iron absorption. Фенюльс® the Complex is appointed only at an iron deficiency anemia and cannot be applied at anemias of other etiology. In case of the admission of reception of one dose of drug, it should be accepted at the first opportunity, however, if time of reception of the passed dose matches time of reception of the next dose, it is necessary to accept only the next dose. Treatment of an iron deficiency anemia needs to be carried out under control of content in blood serum of iron, hemoglobin and the general iron-binding ability of serum. Administration of drug does not exert impact on result of definition of the occult blood (hemoglobin) in Calais therefore there is no need for the termination of treatment for carrying out the analysis

Side effects:

Allergic reactions, nausea, lock, diarrhea, feeling of overflow and raspiraniye in epigastriums, coloring of a chair in dark color (it is caused by removal of not soaked up iron and has no clinical value).

Interaction with other medicines:

Interaction with other medicines is noted.

Contraindications:

- Hypersensitivity to any component of drug
- Overload iron (for example, hemochromatosis, hemosiderosis)
- Iron utilization disturbance (for example, lead anemia, sideroakhrestichesky anemia, thalassemia, late porphyria of skin)
- The anemias which are not caused by deficit of iron (for example, hemolitic anemia)
- Children's age up to 6 months (body weight less than 5 kg).

Overdose:

If the child accidentally accepted the raised drug dose, immediately see a doctor. At overdose of drug of intoxication and an overload iron does not note

Storage conditions:

Period of validity - 2 years. Not to use after the termination of the period of validity specified on packaging. To store at a temperature not above 25 °C, in the place, unavailable to children. Not to freeze.

Packaging:

30 ml of drug in a glass bottle from dark glass with the screwing-up cover from aluminum; 1 bottle complete with the pipette dosing 2 ml and the adapter and the application instruction is placed in a cardboard pack.
