Furasol

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: фурагин soluble; 1 bag of a furagin of soluble 0,1 g;

Excipients: sodium chloride.

Pharmacological properties:

Antimicrobic means derivative of nitrofuran. It is effective concerning gram-positive cocci (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp.), gram-negative sticks (Е. coli, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Klebsiella spp.). Plasmodium aeruginosa, Enterococcus spp are steady., Acinetobacter spp., majority of strains of Proteus spp., Serratia spp.
The mechanism of action is connected with inhibition of synthesis of nucleic acids. Depending on concentration has bactericidal or bacteriostatic effect. Against the most part of bacteria bacteriostatic concentration makes from 10-20 mkg/ml. Bactericidal concentration is approximately twice higher.
Under the influence of nitrofurans in microorganisms there is a suppression of activity of a respiratory chain and cycle of tricarboxylic acids (tricarbonic acid cycle), and also oppression of other biochemical processes that leads to destruction of their cover or cytoplasmic membrane. Nitrofurans raise a caption of a complement and ability of leukocytes to englobe microorganisms.

Indications to use:

As local means at complex treatment:

— infectious and inflammatory diseases of an oral cavity, stomatopharynx;
— contaminated wounds.

Route of administration and doses:

For topical and external use.

Solution is prepared just before use.
Contents of a bag are dissolved in 200 ml of hot water and warm solution is used for rinsing of an oral cavity and a stomatopharynx by 2-3 times a day.

Drug solution is also applied to washing of wounds; after surgical treatment apply directly on a wound surface then apply a sterile gauze bandage, or a dressing material, and then a wound. To apply on a wound surface 2-3 times a day.

Features of use:

Solution is prepared just before use.
Not to store the prepared solution.

Side effects:

Development of allergic reactions is in some cases possible. In this case use of drug is stopped. Appoint symptomatic therapy.

Interaction with other medicines:

In combination with antibiotics shows a synergism.
In case of alcohol intake during treatment by drug, the probability of development of skin allergic reactions increases.

Contraindications:

— allergic dermatitis;
— pregnancy and feeding by a breast;
— children are younger than 4 years;
— hypersensitivity to a furazidin or drugs of a nitrofuran row

Use at pregnancy and feeding by a breast
Use at pregnancy and in the period of a lactation is contraindicated.

Use for children
Not to use for children is younger than 4 years.

Overdose:

Drug малотоксичен. Cases of overdose are not described.

Storage conditions:

In dry, protected from light and the place, unavailable to children, at a temperature from 15 °C to 25 °C.
