Primafungin

General characteristics. Structure:

Deystvushchy substance: 100 mg of a natamitsin.

Excipients: cetyl alcohol, sorbitan trioleate of 460 mg, polysorbate of 80 - 460 mg, Natrii hydrocarbonas of 69 mg, adipic acid of 64 mg, semi-synthetic glycerides (Suppotsir AM) - enough for receiving suppository weighing 2500 mg.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. The antifungal half-yen antibiotic from group of macroleads having a broad spectrum of activity. Has fungicidal effect. Natamitsin connects sterola of cellular membranes, breaking their integrity and functions that leads to death of microorganisms. It is active concerning the majority of drozhzhepodobny mushrooms (especially Candida albicans), dermatophytes (Trichophyton, Microsporum, Epidermophyton), yeast (Torulopsis and Rhodotorula), other pathogenic fungi (Aspergillus, Penicillium, Fusarium, Cephalosporium), and also concerning some elementary (trichomonads). Does not influence gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Resistance to a natamitsin in clinical practice does not meet.

Pharmacokinetics. Has no systemic action as it is practically not soaked up from the surface of mucous membranes.

Vaginal suppositories under the influence of body temperature melt, forming volume extending foamy weight that promotes hypodispersion of active substance on a mucous membrane.

Indications to use:

• Fungal infections of a vulva and vagina.
• With the preventive purpose at treatment by cytostatics, glucocorticoids or antibiotics of a wide range.

Route of administration and doses:

Intravaginalno. At adults and girls (after the beginning of sex life) appoint on 1 suppository within 3-6 days.

Route of administration of suppositories. Suppository is entered into a vagina, in a prone position as it is possible more deeply, 1 time a day for the night. Suppositories should not be cut on a part as similar change of storage conditions of drug can lead to disturbance of distribution of active agent.

Features of use:

Use at pregnancy and during breastfeeding. Drug use примафунгин during pregnancy and a lactation is possible.

In the period of periods therapy with suppositories is interrupted.

During treatment by suppositories there is no need for an exception of sexual contacts. However it is recommended to conduct examination of sexual partners and, in case of identification of candidosis defeat, to treat the partner.

Also it is necessary to provide use during treatment of barrier contraceptives.

Cetyl alcohol which is a part of vaginal suppositories can cause feeling of easy burning in genital area at hypersensitivity to this component.

Ability to influence speed of response at control of motor transport or work with other mechanisms.

Use of drug does not influence ability to driving and control of potentially dangerous mechanisms.

Side effects:

Local reactions: slight irritation mucous, burning sensation.

Interaction with other medicines:

Medicinal interaction of drug примафунгин is not described.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to drug components.

Overdose:

Storage conditions:

To store in the dry, protected from light place, at a temperature of 15 - 25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children! Period of validity 2 years. Not to use after the period of validity specified on packaging!
