Bicillinum-5

General characteristics. Structure:

Powder for preparation of suspension for introduction in oil white, inodorous, bitterish taste, forming homogeneous suspension of a milk turbidity at addition of water, solution of sodium of chloride of 0.9% or solution of novocaine of 0.25%-0.5%; at long contact with water or other above-named solutions physical and colloid properties of drug change therefore suspension becomes uneven and hardly passes through the hypodermic needle.

benzylpenicillin novocainic salt        of 300 thousand. Pieces.

Pharmacological properties:

Antibiotic of group of the penicillin of the prolonged action collapsing a penicillinase. Disturbance of synthesis of a peptidoglikan - a mukopeptid of a cellular cover is the cornerstone of the mechanism of action that leads to inhibition of synthesis of a cell wall of a microorganism, suppression of growth and reproduction of bacteria.
It is active concerning gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus spp. (not forming a penicillinase), Streptococcus spp. (including Streptococcus pneumoniae), and also Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Bacillus anthracis.
Viruses, rickettsiae, mushrooms, protozoa, the majority of gram-negative bacteria are steady against drug.
Drug has the prolonged effect.

 

Pharmacokinetics. At introduction of Bicillinum-5 high concentration during the first hours after an injection is created.

After introduction of Bicillinum-5 in a dose of 1.2-1.5 million. The piece at children and adults is reached therapeutic concentration of 0.3 PIECES/ml which remains within 28 days.

Indications to use:

— treatment of the infectious diseases caused by activators, sensitive to penicillin (especially when it is necessary to create long therapeutic concentration in blood);

— year-round prevention of rheumatism at adults and children.

Route of administration and doses:

More frequent administration of drug is not allowed, than it is specified in the dosing mode.
The adult drug appoint 1.5 million in a dose. Piece of 1 times in 4 weeks.
To children of preschool age drug appoint in a dose 600 000 PIECES of 1 times in 3 weeks, to children 8 years of 1.2-1.5 million are more senior. Piece of 1 times in 4 weeks.
Rules of preparation and administration of solution
Suspension of Bicillinum-5 is prepared just before the use. With drug enter 5-6 ml of sterile water for injections into a bottle, either 0.9% of solution of sodium of chloride, or 0.25-0.5% of solution of novocaine. Mix in a bottle is mixed (rotation of a bottle between palms) before formation of homogeneous suspension (or suspensions) which is entered immediately deeply into an upper outside quadrant of a buttock. Grinding of a buttock after an injection is not recommended.

Features of use:

Bicillinum-5 can be applied only when it is known that the patient has no hypersensitivity reactions to penicillin since drug provides constant intake of penicillin in blood throughout a long time.

Patients at whom reactions, unusual to drug, were noted have to be under constant observation of the doctor before total disappearance of side effects. In hard cases appoint the corresponding therapy (atropine of 0.1% 0.5-0.6 ml, Epinephrinum of 0.1% 1 ml, ephedrine of 5% 1 ml, caffeine Natrium benzoicum of 10%, liquid ammonia).

Side effects:

Allergic reactions: a headache, fervescence, urticaria, rash on skin and mucous membranes, an arthralgia, an eosinophilia, a Quincke's disease. Cases of an acute anaphylaxis with a lethal outcome are described.
Local reactions: morbidity in an injection site is possible.

Interaction with other medicines:

Medicinal interaction of the drug Bicillinum-5 is not described.

Contraindications:

— bronchial asthma;

— small tortoiseshell;

— hay fever;

— hypersensitivity to penicillin.

 

Use of the drug BITSILLIN®-5 at pregnancy and feeding by a breast

Data on use of Bicillinum-5 at pregnancy and in the period of a lactation (breastfeeding) are not provided.

 

Use for children
