General characteristics. Structure:

Main physical and chemical properties: liquid from light brown till brown color, with a specific smell of an anise. Loss осадка.состав is allowed: 5 ml of syrup contain a mallow of a root of extract 25 mg or a mallow of a root of extract of the dry, containing mallow of a root of extract of 25 mg; excipients: Glycyrramum, Natrium benzoicum, Natrii hydrocarbonas, ammonium chloride, oil anisic, sorbite, methylparahydroxybenzoate, пропилпарагидроксибензоат, ethanol (96%), the water purified.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Complex vegetable drug; the expectorant of direct action, has the enveloping, softening and antiinflammatory effect. The root of a mallow contains vegetable polisakharidny slime (to 35%), and also asparagine, a betaine, pectinaceous substances, starch, etc. The mechanism of action is caused by irritation of receptors of a stomach and reflex stimulation of neurons of the emetic, respiratory and tussive centers that leads to strengthening of a vermicular movement of bronchioles and increase in activity of a ciliary epithelium of bronchial tubes (actually expectorant action). Besides, drug strengthens function of bronchial glands, causing fluidifying of a phlegm, reduction of its viscosity and increase in volume (resorptive sekretolitichesky action). Vegetable slime cover mucous membranes with a thin layer which it is long remains on their surface and protects from irritation. As a result inflammatory process decreases and the angenesis is facilitated. At impact on a mucous membrane of a stomach protective action of a film from vegetable slime of subjects is more long, than acidity of a gastric juice is higher (viscosity of vegetable slime increases at interaction with hydrochloric acid of a gastric juice).

Pharmacokinetics. It is not investigated.

Indications to use:

The acute and chronic diseases of a respiratory organs which are followed by cough with the hardly separated phlegm: laryngitis, tracheitis, tracheobronchitis, bronchitis, bronchial asthma, whooping cough.

Route of administration and doses:

Appoint inside after food.

To adults and children 12 years are more senior appoint 15 ml of syrup (3 measured spoons). To children at the age of 6 – 12 years appoint 10 ml of syrup (2 measured spoons), at the age of 2 – 6 years – on 5 ml of syrup (1 measured spoon), at the age of 1 - 2 – on 2,5 ml of syrup (½ measured spoons). Frequency rate of reception for adults and children is more senior than 6 years – 4 – 5 times a day, for children at the age of 2 – 6 years – 3 – 4 times a day, for children at the age of 1 - 2 – 1 – 3 time a day.

To children of 1 - 6 years the drug dose (2,5 ml - 5 ml) before use is parted in one tablespoon of boiled water.

Duration of a course of therapy is defined individually depending on efficiency of treatment and makes, as a rule, 10 – 15 days. According to indications purpose of repeated and more long courses of treatment is possible.

Features of use:

Appointment at dry cough since its strengthening is possible is not recommended.

Formation of a film from vegetable slime not only renders the expressed medical effect on mucosal surfaces of a cover of upper respiratory tracts, but also promotes longer local influence of other medicines.

As drug does not contain sugar, patients with a diabetes mellitus can accept it.

Before use drug should be shaken up.

At use of drug for children it is necessary to consider that one measured spoon of syrup (5 ml) contains 0,1 ml of ethanol (96%) therefore it is necessary to adhere to strictly specified doses for children.

Use during pregnancy and feeding by a breast. Perhaps only on doctor's orders.

Influence on a possibility of control of vehicles and mechanisms. Data are absent.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions (skin rash, skin itch) are possible.

Interaction with other medicines:

At combined use with anti-inflammatory drugs drug prolongs their action, increases efficiency and reduces side effect. As an expectorant administration of drug can be combined from sodium bicarbonate. At combined use with antibechic drugs accumulation of a phlegm in respiratory tracts is possible; with antibiotics – increase in concentration of antibiotics in respiratory tracts.

Contraindications:

The increased individual sensitivity to drug components, children's age till 1 year.

Overdose:

Symptoms: nausea, vomiting. Treatment: drug withdrawal, gastric lavage.

Storage conditions:

To store in densely closed bottles or banks, in the place protected from light at a temperature from 15 °C to 25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children. After opening to store in the cool place no more than 10 days.

Period of validity – 2 years.
