Chondroitin sulfate

General characteristics. Structure:

Active agent - 100 mg chondroitin sulfate.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Chondroitin sulfate - the main component of the proteoglycans making a cartilaginous matrix together with collagenic fibers. Has hondroprotektorny properties; suppresses activity of the enzymes causing degradation of a joint cartilage; stimulates development with chondrocytes of proteoglycans; strengthens metabolic processes in a cartilage and a subchondral bone; exerts impact on phosphorus-calcium exchange in cartilaginous tissue, stimulates its regeneration, participates in creation of the main substance of bone and cartilaginous tissue. Has antiinflammatory and analgeziruyushchy properties, promotes decrease in emission in synovial fluid of mediators of an inflammation and painful factors through sinoviotsita and macrophages of a synovial membrane, suppresses secretion of B4 leukotriene and E2 prostaglandin.

Drug promotes recovery of cartilaginous surfaces of joints, interferes with a collapse of connecting fabric; normalizes products of joint liquid that leads to improvement of mobility of joints, reduction of intensity of pains.

Pharmacokinetics. Chondroitin sodium sulfate is easily soaked up at intramuscular introduction. The maximum concentration is reached in 1 hour after introduction. Drug collects in synovial fluid. It is brought out of an organism generally by kidneys during 24 h.

Indications to use:

Osteoarthrosis of peripheral joints and backbone.

Route of administration and doses:

Intramusculary, on 1 ml every other day. Before use contents of an ampoule are dissolved in 1 ml of water for injections. At good tolerance the dose is increased to 2 ml, since the fourth injection. A course of treatment - 25-35 injections. Repeated courses - in 6 months.

Duration of repeated courses of treatment is established by the doctor. Achievement of stable clinical effect requires not less than 25 injections sulfate chondroitin, at the same time the effect remains is long within many months after the termination of a course of treatment. For the prevention of aggravations repeated courses of treatment are shown.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions, hemorrhages in the place of an injection.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to chondroitin to sulfate, tendency to bleeding, thrombophlebitises, pregnancy, the feeding period a breast (for the period of treatment feeding by a breast should be stopped).

Overdose:

Data on overdose by drug are absent today.

Storage conditions:

In the dry, protected from light place at a temperature from 18 °C to 22 °C.

Packaging:

Lyophilisate for preparation of solution for intramuscular introduction of 100 mg in ampoules on 1 ml.

On 100 mg in ampoules from neutral glass on 1 ml. 5 ampoules in a blister strip packaging from a film a foil, polyvinyl chloride without covering. On 1 or 2 blister strip packagings with the application instruction and the ampoule scarificator in a cardboard pack. On 5 ampoules or 10 ampoules with the application instruction and the ampoule scarificator in a cardboard pack with a corrugated insert.
