General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: Hondroitin:1 the capsule contains sodium sulfate chondroitin – 340 mg; excipients: talc, triethyl citrate.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Hondroprotektorny, hondrostimuliruyushchy, reparative, antiinflammatory, anesthetic. Chondroitin is high-molecular polysaccharide which contains in a significant amount in different types of connecting fabric, especially cartilaginous. Participates in regeneration of the main substance of a cartilaginous and bone tissue. Improves phosphorus-calcium exchange in cartilaginous tissue, inhibits the enzymes breaking structure and function of a joint cartilage, slows down processes of a degeneration of cartilaginous tissue. Stimulates synthesis of glucosaminoglycans, normalizes metabolism of hyaline fabric, promotes regeneration of cartilaginous surfaces and a joint bag. Warns a compression of connecting fabric, increases products of joint liquid, increases mobility of the affected joints. Slows down progressing of an osteoarthrosis.
Drug reduces morbidity of joints at rest and when walking, weakens expressiveness of an inflammation, promotes decrease in need for non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Pharmacokinetics. After a single dose inside drug is quickly soaked up in digestive tract. Bioavailability of drug makes 13%. The maximum concentration in blood is reached in 3 - 4 h after administration of drug, and equilibrium concentration is established in 14 - 18 h. Drug is characterized by a high tropnost to the fabrics rich with glucosaminoglycans that causes its high bioavailability in relation to a cartilage and a bone. At course reception drug collects in musculoskeletal system fabrics, namely — in a joint cartilage and synovial fluid. Removal of drug happens kidneys during 24 h.

Indications to use:

Degenerative and dystrophic diseases of joints and backbone: primary arthrosis, intervertebral osteochondrosis, an osteoarthrosis, a periodontopathy, fractures of bones (for acceleration of formation of a bone callosity).

Route of administration and doses:

To adults and children 14 years are more senior appoint inside, on 1 capsule 3 times a day, washing down with a small amount of water.
Children are from 6 to 14 years old – on 1 capsule 2 times a day. To children up to 6 years of the capsule do not appoint.
The recommended duration of an initial course of treatment makes 6 months, the period of effect of drug after its cancellation – 3 - 5 months depending on localization and a stage of a disease. Repeated courses – in 6 months. Duration of repeated courses of treatment is defined by the doctor individually depending on efficiency and portability of therapy.

Features of use:

At allergic reactions and hemorrhages treatment should be stopped. For the period of treatment by drug it is necessary to stop feeding by a breast.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions (skin itch, erythema, small tortoiseshell, dermatitis), it is rare – nausea, vomiting.

Interaction with other medicines:

It is not described.

Contraindications:

Tendency to bleeding, thrombophlebitis, pregnancy, the feeding period a breast, individual hypersensitivity to drug components. Children under 6 years (for this dosage form of drug).

Overdose:

Cases of overdose of drug are not described.

Storage conditions:

In the dry, protected from light place at a temperature not above 20 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children.
Period of validity - 2 years.
