KALANCHOE JUICE

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 1 bottle contains 9,966 ml or 19,932 ml of juice of a kalanchoe; 

excipients: chloroform.

Main physical and chemical properties: transparent or slightly opalescent liquid with a small suspension which easily breaks when stirring, from light brown till yellow color with a specific smell, рН 3,8-5,0.

Pharmacological properties:

Kalanchoes juice receive from fresh escapes of plants of a kalanchoe plumose [Kalanchoyo pinnatum (Pers.)]. Comprises flavonoids, ascorbic acid, a small amount of tannins, microelements (iron, magnesium, aluminum, copper, calcium, manganese, silicium), organic acids, enzymes.

Juice from a kalanchoe possesses antiinflammatory action, promotes bystry clarification from necrotic fabrics and epithelization of wounds and ulcers. Does not irritate skin and mucous membranes, малотоксичен.

Indications to use:

Kalanchoes apply juice in surgical, dental and obstetric and gynecologic practice.

In surgical practice of a kalanchoe juice is applied at treatment dlitelbno of not healing wounds, trophic ulcers of a shin, decubituses, burns, in a complex with other means to preparation of wounds for imposing of secondary seams and for skin transplantation. In dental practice of a kalanchoe juice apply at ulites (an acute diffusion catarral ulitis, subacute and chronic forms of a hypertrophic catarral ulitis), at an inflammatory and dystrophic form of periodontosis ІІ-ІІІ degrees, at recurrent stomatitis. In obstetric and gynecologic practice juice is applied at wounds of a crotch, gaps at childbirth, at nipple cracks.

Route of administration and doses:

In surgical practice carry out a skin toilet around a wound or an ulcer and 1-3 ml of juice by means of the syringe through a needle of small diameter irrigate its surface. On a wound or an ulcer impose 4 - 5 layers of a gauze bandage which are plentifully moistened with kalanchoe juice. The bandage before clarification of the pathological center from necrotic masses is changed daily, and further – every other day. Layers of a gauze, adjacent to a wound, remove after their preliminary moistening 3% hydrogen peroxide solution. Except full replacement of a bandage of 1 times a day in addition (1 time a day) by means of the syringe plentifully gauze sublayers moisten with kalanchoe juice, and at the same time remove upper layers.

In the presence of purulent discharges within 5-7 days juice is applied against the background of antibacterial therapy. Average duration of use of juice of 15-20 days.

 At nipple cracks after each feeding apply on them with a pipette several drops of juice of a kalanchoe within 4-5 days. At wounds of a crotch the same route of administration, as in surgical practice.

In dental practice juice is applied in the form of applications (the gauze napkins or cotton wool moistened with juice) after preliminary careful processing of the pathological centers. Applications do 3-4 times a day 20 minutes. The course of treatment makes usually from 8 to 15 days.

Features of use:

In dental practice juice before use is warmed up on the water bath up to the temperature + by 37 °C. Children do not have experience of use of drug up to 18 years. The drugs containing a kalanchoe juice can be applied in a complex with physiotherapeutic methods of treatment.

Side effects:

Occasionally use of juice causes burning in the field of a wound. In such cases juice is diluted with the equal number of 1-2% of solution of novocaine.

Interaction with other medicines:

Interaction with other medicines is not established yet.

Contraindications:

Individual hypersensitivity to drug components.

Overdose:

It is not established.

Storage conditions:

To store (5±3) °C at a temperature.

Period of validity – 2 years.
