Valerian forte

General characteristics. Structure:

Acting veshchestvo:1 a tablet contains a valerian of extract dense, in terms of dry matter – 40 mg;

excipients: lactose, monohydrate (granulak-70); sodium of a kroskarmeloz; magnesium carbonate easy; castor oil; calcium stearate; talc; mix for a covering of "Opaglos II Yellow" 97W22039 (sodium of a karmeloz (sodium carboxymethylcellulose); dextrin; glucose, monohydrate; titanium dioxide (Е 171); lecithin; quinolinic yellow (Е 104); yellow zakatfcf (E 110)).

Pharmacological properties:

Drug reduces excitability of the central nervous system. Action is caused by the content of essential oil most of which part is made by ester of alcohol of baras camphor and isovaleric acid. Sedative properties have also valepotriata and alkaloids – валерин and хотинин. Sedative action is shown slowly, but is quite stable. Valerianic acid and valepotriata have weak spasmolytic effect. Drug practically does not cause feeling of fatigue, does not influence intellectual and physical working capacity.

Indications to use:

The increased nervous irritability, sleeplessness; as a part of a combination therapy – at easy functional disturbances from cardiovascular system.

Route of administration and doses:

Inside to adults and children 12 years on 1-2 tablets  3 times a day are more senior. Duration of treatment is determined by the doctor individually.

Tablets should be applied without chewing washing down with liquid.

Features of use:

Use during pregnancy or feeding by a breast. It is not recommended to use drug in view of a lack of data on safety of use during pregnancy or feeding by a breast.

Ability to influence speed of response at control of motor transport or work with other mechanisms. At use of drug it is necessary to refrain from control of vehicles and work with potentially dangerous mechanisms.

Children. In view of limited clinical experience, use of a valerian to children 12 years are younger it is not recommended.

Side effects:

Drug is usually well transferred, but emergence of drowsiness, feeling of depression, decrease in working capacity, dizziness, headache, nausea which undergo at reduction of a dose or (in case of their expressiveness) drug withdrawals is sometimes possible.

At individual hypersensitivity to drug development of local allergic reactions (rashes, an itch, hypostasis and a dermahemia) is possible.

Interaction with other medicines:

The valerian strengthens effect of alcohol, hypnotic drugs, sedative, anxiolytic and spasmolytic drugs.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to a valerian and/or to other components of drug; the depression or other states which are followed by oppression of activity of the central nervous system.

Appropriate security measures at use. During use of drug it is necessary to abstain from the use of alcoholic beverages.

Drug contains lactose therefore it should not be applied to patients with rare hereditary forms of intolerance of a galactose, insufficiency of lactase or a sprue of glucose galactose.

Drug contains glucose that needs to be considered a sick diabetes mellitus.

Patients who had a heavy abnormal liver function or had a serious illness of a liver in the past should be careful at administration of drug.

Specific sensitivity to a valerian smell can take place.

Overdose:

Simptomy:vozmozhno developing of a headache, dizziness, drowsiness, slackness, general weakness, abdominal pain, nausea, trembling of hands, expansions of pupils, decrease in auditory acuity and sight, feeling of squeezing in a breast.

To Lecheniye:prekratit drug use, to wash out a stomach, to accept absorbent carbon. In case of need to carry out symptomatic therapy.

Storage conditions:

Period of validity 2 years. To store in original packaging, at a temperature not above 25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children.
