General characteristics. Structure:

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Фероплект treats the means regulating metabolic processes, in particular, drug eliminates deficit of iron in an organism at iron deficiency anemias of various origin, stimulates an erythrogenesis. The iron combination to ascorbic acid shows synergy action. Iron is Feroplekt's part in the form of a bivalent ion of iron which is soaked up in digestive tract better, than an ion of trivalent iron. Ascorbic acid thanks to the antioxidant properties promotes absorption and digestion of iron (it stabilizes Fe2+ ion, interferes with its transformation into Fe3+ ion).

Pharmacokinetics. Pharmacokinetic researches of drug of Feroplekt were not conducted.

Indications to use:

Treatment and prevention of iron deficiency anemias of various genesis at adults, children are more senior than 4 years. Disturbance of absorption of iron from digestive tract.

Route of administration and doses:

To adults and children 12 years for treatment are more senior appoint 2 tablets 3 times a day, to children from 4 to 12 years – on 1 tablet 3 times a day. For prevention by the adult and to children 12 years are more senior appoint 1 – 2 tablet of 1 times a day, to children from 4 to 12 years – on 1 tablet of 1 times a day. Фероплект accept inside, without chewing, in 1 hour prior to or in 2 hours after the use of food.
Duration of use of drug for prevention or treatment is defined by the doctor depending on expressiveness of anemia, speed of achievement of therapeutic effect and can last from 3 – 4 weeks to several months.

Features of use:

Products from breadstuff (bread, millet and wheat porridges, flakes), leguminous (soy, peas), rice, fish, seafood, dairy products, eggs slow down iron absorption. The interval between Feroplekt's reception and the use of these products has to make not less than 2 hours.
It is not necessary to take alcohol during treatment by Feroplekt.
Drug does not influence ability to manage transport, to work with the equipment and to perform the work requiring special attention and speed of psychomotor reactions.
At course use it is necessary to control periodically indicators of serumal iron and hemoglobin. It is not necessary to stop treatment right after normalization of a hemoglobin content and erythrocytes, for the purpose of creation in an organism of "depot" of iron it is necessary to accept drug on an extent of 1 - 2 months.
During pregnancy and feeding by a breast for Feroplekt's appointment and determination of duration of use it is necessary to consider advantage of advantage and need for use to mother over risk for a fruit.

Side effects:

Nausea, vomiting, lack of appetite, gastralgia, meteorism, darkening of teeth and gums, locks, diarrhea, pharyngalgia, allergic reactions (skin rash, itch), headache, dizziness, weakness, dermahemia, feeling of pressure behind a breast, irritability are possible.

Interaction with other medicines:

At simultaneous use of Feroplekt
- with iron preparations and other medicines which part iron is accumulation of iron in a liver is possible, the probability of overdose of iron increases;
- with antiacid drugs which part are aluminum calcium, magnesium, and also with Pancreatinum, holestiraminy, D-Penicillaminum comes reduction of absorption of iron from digestive tract;
- with tocopherol activity of both drugs decreases;
- with antibiotics of groups of tetracycline and ftorkhinolon the complex connections reducing absorption of iron and antibiotics therefore Feroplekt needs to apply in 3 hours prior to or in 2 hours after reception of antibiotics are formed;
- with glucocorticosteroids strengthening of stimulation of an erythrogenesis is possible;
- with Allopyrinolum accumulation of iron in a liver is possible;
- with acetohydroxamic acid activity of both drugs decreases;
- with chloramphenicol efficiency of iron preparations decreases. Formation of erythrocytes is oppressed and hemoglobin level decreases;
- with drugs of zinc of Feroplekt it is necessary to apply in 2 hours after zinc administration of drugs as the last reduce intestinal absorption of drugs of bivalent iron;
- with ethanol absorption and risk of emergence of toxic complications increases;
- with etidronovy acid activity of etidronovy acid decreases. It should be accepted not earlier than in 2 hours after Feroplekt's reception.

Contraindications:

Feroplekt's appointment is contraindicated at hypersensitivity to drug components, children up to 4 years, aplastic and hemolitic anemias, a hemosiderosis, hemochromatosis, a thalassemia, chronic hemolysis, chronic diseases of a liver and kidneys with disturbance of their functions, leukoses, bronchial asthma.

Overdose:

Symptoms: excessive fatigue or weakness, a hyperthermia, paresthesias, pallor of skin, a Crocq's disease, an abdominal pain, a necrosis of a mucous membrane of a GIT, vomiting and a diarrhea with blood impurity, fresh red blood in fecal masses, a low pulse, a lowering of arterial pressure, a heart consciousness, convulsive attacks, a coma.
Acute poisonings at children at accidental reception of a large amount of drug proceed hard, at the same time the hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, a hematemesis, a bloody diarrhea and vascular shock are possible.
Treatment: calling of vomiting, reception of milk or crude eggs (for formation of a zhelezobelkovy complex), a gastric lavage of 1% hydroxide sodium solution (for formation of almost insoluble ferrous carbonate), administration of solution of Deferoxaminum in a stomach through a gastric tube (5 – 10 g of Deferoxaminum dissolve in 100 ml of isotonic solution of sodium of chloride). In cases of a serious poisoning Deferoxaminum is entered intravenously slowly, at slight poisoning – intramusculary.
