Feksadin
Application instruction:
Feksadin (the international name – Feksofenadin) treats group of antihistaminic drugs which block histamine receptors and normalize a condition of membranes of mast cells.
Feksadin received positive reviews as effective drug for treatment of a seasonal and chronic allergy.
Structure and form of release of Feksadin
The main active ingredient – a hydrochloride of a feksofenadin of 120 mg.
Auxiliary components: starch, povidone, silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, the purified water.
Feksadin is issued in tablets, film coated. The cover of each tablet consists of titanium dioxide, oxide of red iron, a macrogoal, a food dye.
Pharmacological action
Feksadin blocks process of release of a histamine and has antiallergic effect.
Medical effect of drug begins to be shown within 60 minutes after the beginning of reception and lasts for 20-24 hours. Feksadin forms bonds with proteins of a blood plasma and is partially metabolized.
Feksadin has two-phase type of removal. Drug is removed from an organism with bile and urine.
Feksadin has positive reviews as drug with bystry antiallergic and antiinflammatory action.
At Feksadin and Ketokonazol's concomitant use concentration of a feksofenadin in a blood plasma can sharply increase. The concomitant use of drug and antacids reduces bioavailability. Feksadin cannot interact with Omeprazol and other medicines which form metabolites in a liver.
Feksadin's analogs
Feksadin's analogs are Telfast, Fekso and Allerfeks. These drugs have similar pharmacological effect and are effective for treatment of an allergy of various type.
Indications to Feksadin's use
Feksadin appoint for treatment of allergic rhinitis, an itch and inflammations of mucous membranes of eyes, hay fever, a small tortoiseshell of idiopathic type, seasonal allergic reactions.
Application instruction of Feksadin
According to the instruction Feksadin it is necessary to accept inside 120 mg of 1 times a day at treatment of hay fever and rhinitis, and at a small tortoiseshell of idiopathic type – on 180 mg of 1 times a day. Children cannot appoint drug up to 6 years, and with 6 do12 years the daily dosage should not exceed 60 mg.
The attending physician has to define Feksadin's dosage according to a formula - "indications – a dose - effect". In the absence of medical effect within 24 hours after reception drug should be cancelled. Patients with a liver and renal failure should accept drug on 60 mg a day.
According to the instruction Feksadin can cause decrease in psychomotor reactions. The patients managing vehicles and working at dangerous objects should be careful or limit the activity.
Before purpose of drug it is necessary to check individual reaction of the patient to his components.
Contraindications
Contraindications to Feksadin's appointment are hypersensitivity and intolerance of components of drug, pregnancy and the period of breastfeeding, children's age up to 6 years.
With care Feksadin appoint at a liver and renal failure, a serious illness of the alimentary system.
Side effects of Feksadin
Feksadin can cause a headache, dizziness, increased fatigue, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, uneasiness, sleeplessness.
In certain cases the syndrome of mental overfatigue develops.
At long administration of drug allergic reactions – skin rash, a bronchospasm, a small tortoiseshell, an asthma, a Quincke's disease can appear.
