Hydroxyapatite

The hydroxyapatite _{of Sa10(po4) calcium 6(OH)2} is an inorganic main component of a bone tissue.

Produce the drug Hydroxyapatite from sort Porites corals which get in the sea. It is absolutely inert to tissues of the person, at the expense of it was widely used in stomatology, traumatology, maxillofacial surgery. In cosmetology the Hydroxyapatite is applied to smoothing of wrinkles.

Pharmacological group: regulator of kaltsevo-phosphorus exchange

Dosage form

The hydroxyapatite of calcium is released in the form of powder, by suspensions, granules and paste.

Pharmacological action

Regulating exchange of calcium and phosphorus, means is base of a matrix of bone tissues with the inorganic nature. Activating bone formation, proliferation of osteoblasts amplifies and in an injection site are started process of reparative bone formation which slows down inflammatory process in a wound of a bone. After the bone cavity is filled, the Hydroxyapatite of calcium does not harden and does not resolve, and there is its substitution a full-fledged bone tissue.

Gidroksipatit calcium малотоксичен, at its use by-effects are not observed (inflammations, allergies, mutagen action).

Indications to use of the Hydroxyapatite

For stimulation of reparative bone formation in maxillofacial and plastic surgery, in traumatology and stomatology the Hydroxyapatite is applied:

• as execution of missing elements of a bone tissue;
• at periodontitis;
• for recovery of bone defects after removal of sequesters;
• at wounds with injury of a bone tissue (e.g. fire);
• at different types of changes;
• at the formed nearthroses;
• for introduction of endoprostheses and implants;
• at plastics of facial bones.

To use as ingredient a filler of tooth sealing pastes the Hydroxyapatite is applied at:

• pulpitis;
• periodontitis;
• completion of bone defects - after a remote cyst;
• completions of defects after a resection (partial removal) of a fang top;
• deep caries;
• for filling of root channels.

Also the Hydroxyapatite in cosmetology for intradermal injections, for smoothing of wrinkles is used.

Contraindications

In case of individual hypersensitivity to drug.

Side effects

It is not observed.

Application instruction of the Hydroxyapatite

The powder Calcium Hydroxyapatite is mixed with normal saline solution and etilglikoly or with buttered solution of a retinolatsetat to a pasty consistence. Paste needs to be used within two minutes after its preparation.

The calcium hydroxyapatite in granules is used for filling of pockets at a periodontal disease. For this purpose prepare a pocket in advance, and then densely fill it with granules

The hydroxyapatite in the form of ready paste can be entered in injured at once, previously I podgotovlennoit a part of a bone (having removed the changed or nekrotizirovanny fabrics) or the place where it is necessary to fill defect, with the subsequent layer-by-layer sewing together of soft tissues.

5% enter Suspension into a cavity of defect of a bone tissue by means of the syringe.

For recovery of former height of interalveolar partitions and completion of defect of an alveolar shoot use 45% paste.

For therapy of periodontitis use 18% paste the Hydroxyapatite.

10% suspension use the Hydroxyapatite in cases of conservative treatment of a periodontal disease.

For smoothing of wrinkles in cosmetology the Hydroxyapatite is entered by method of intradermal injections as a filler in the form of aqueous solution.

Special instructions

Use of drug for the recovery of a bone tissue, in an acute phase of an inflammation of soft tissues which is followed by suppuration is considered is inexpedient.

If necessary the Hydroxyapatite can be sterilized in a dry-heat case with unlimited frequency rate of repetitions at a temperature up to 150 With, on exposure not less than 10-15 minutes.
