Pathological intoxication

Description:

As means for stress coping, alarms, for fight against the fears and as tonic at strong fatigue quite often try to use alcohol.

Alcohol helps with such cases only temporarily, but is capable to result in pathological intoxication. So call change of consciousness during which the person loses touch with reality. In this state he is ready to make not only harmless ridiculous things, but also cruel crimes.

Reasons of pathological intoxication:

For development of pathological intoxication the use of the high doses of alcohol causing heavy intoxication is not obligatory. This frustration sometimes arises even at reception of insignificant amount of alcohol.
Pathological intoxication arises even at absolutely healthy people at a combination of a number of certain factors to alcohol intake.

— Physiological factors: overfatigue, long forced sleeplessness, physical exhaustion.
— Emotional factors: alarm, chronic stress, fear, nervousness.

Also this state can develop if the person had various diseases of a nervous system or craniocereberal injuries which effects or are slightly expressed and therefore are imperceptible, or the person does not know of them: for example, he did not see a doctor after a head injury.

Alcohol becomes a provocative factor for pathological intoxication always. And it is impossible to foretell under what conditions its reception will cause such state.

It is necessary to understand that it is not a form of intoxication, but the mental disorder caused by effect of alcohol. Pathological intoxication can come at any person who accepted any, as much as small dose of alcohol.

Symptoms of pathological intoxication:

After reception of a small dose of alcohol suddenly there is a sharp excitement which is followed by alarm and fear. The person ceases to perceive surrounding reality adequately, it seems to him hostile and menacing. It reacts to all external irritants aggressively, trying to protect itself(himself) from potential danger.

Superficially the person can not resemble drunk: not to show lacks of coordination of movements, a characteristic mimicry and distortion of the speech.

As the person will mobilize all systems of an organism "for survival", forces quickly come to an end, and the excitement stage sharply is replaced by a dream.

After awakening tested pathological intoxication nothing from occurring in the period of pathological intoxication can remember. Or his memoirs are sketchy and incoherent.

Pathological intoxication has two forms:

The paranoid form is characterized by emergence of nonsense, loss of contact with reality, fears, anger, a superactivity and commission of unconscious actions.

People with this form of pathological intoxication are capable to make difficult actions, to contact to people around and even to make an impression of quite adequate.

Important: their behavior is constructed on perception of own hallucinations therefore can have paradoxical character.

The person with an eleptomorfny form of pathological intoxication at first can be silent and submersed in himself. Then he wigs out also rage and is capable to show aggression and to people around. Most often unmotivated and aimless.

Treatment of pathological intoxication:

Any person who accepted alcohol can fall a victim of pathological intoxication.

Being in a condition of pathological intoxication, the person is dangerous to himself and people around as he does not realize that he really happens around it.

If you suspect that at your close pathological intoxication – immediately call an ambulance crew and do not try "to treat" it independently – it is very dangerous.
