General characteristics. Structure:

International and chemical names: Drotaverinum; [1-(3,4dietoksibenziliden) -6,7-диэтокси-1,2,3,4-тетрагидроизохинолина hydrochloride]; main physical and chemical properties: suppositories of light yellow color, a cigar-shaped form, existence of a white plaque on the surface of suppository is allowed; structure: 1 suppository contains Drotaverinum of a hydrochloride 0,04 g; excipients: fat firm.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Spasmolysant of myotropic action. Lowers a tone of unstriated muscles of internals, reduces their physical activity, eliminates spasms of unstriated muscles, has vazodilatiruyushchy effect, increases the minute volume of blood, moderately expands blood vessels, reducing arterial pressure. Does not exert impact on the autonomic nervous system, does not get into TsNS.

Pharmacokinetics. Drotaverinum is quickly soaked up. The maximum concentration in blood serum is reached in 40–50 min. For 72 h it is almost completely brought out of an organism, generally in the form of metabolites: about 50% – with urine, 30% – with a stake. Drotaverinum and its metabolites badly get through a blood-brain barrier.

Indications to use:

The digestive tract spasms connected with a peptic ulcer of a stomach, duodenum; spasm of peloric and cardial departments of a stomach; spastic locks, spastic colitis; proctitis; postoperative gripes owing to a delay of gases; the spasms of a gall bladder connected with a cholelithiasis, cholecystitis; spasms of urinary bodies, pyelitis, attacks bilious and urolithiasis; альгодисменорея, a uterus tetany, a uterus pharynx spasm at childbirth; painful labor pains; carrying out separate tool methods of a research (analysis of a gastric juice, bile).

Route of administration and doses:

Rektalno. Doses for adults and children are more senior than 12 years – on 1 suppository 2 times a day.

Features of use:

With care patients should appoint drug with the expressed atherosclerosis of coronary arteries, to women during pregnancy, at prostate adenoma.

Side effects:

Dizziness, hypotension, feeling of heat, sweating strengthening, heartbeat.

Interaction with other medicines:

It is possible to apply in combination with cholinolytics, and also as a part of a combination therapy to stopping of hypertensive crisis. At simultaneous use with drugs of a levodopa decrease in antiparkinsonichesky effect of the last is possible. Drug strengthens hypotension which arises at simultaneous use of tricyclic antidepressants, quinidine, novocaine.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to drug components, glaucoma, age up to 12 years.

Overdose:

For today about cases of overdose it was not reported.

Storage conditions:

To store in the dry place protected from light at a temperature of +8 °C + 15 °C. A period of validity – 2 years.
