Финалгель®

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 5 mg of piroxicam in 1 g of gel.

Excipients: propylene glycol, isopropanol, a macrogoal глицерилкокоат (цетиол NOT), a gipromelloz (gidroksipropilmetiltsellyuloz), sodium hydroxide, sodium disulphite (sodium metabisulphite), potassium dihydrophosphate, the water purified

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Possesses the antiinflammatory, anesthetizing, local cooling action. Not selectively suppresses cyclooxygenase 1 and 2.

Pharmacokinetics. After drawing 4 g of drug on skin the maximum concentration of piroxicam in a system blood-groove makes 149,2 + 30,3 ng/ml.

Indications to use:

Pain syndrome: ankylosing spondylarthritis, osteoarthrosis, pseudorheumatism, juvenile chronic arthritis, tendinitis, tendovaginitis, humeroscapular syndrome; sports injuries (bruises, dislocations, injury of ligaments).

Route of administration and doses:

Outwardly. To adults and children 14 years on 1 g of gel (approximately corresponds to the hazelnut size) 3-4 times a day are more senior. Gel should be applied on skin over the struck area and to rub slightly.

Duration of treatment depends on expressiveness of symptoms and averages 2-3 weeks at tendinites, a tendovaginitis and a humeroscapular syndrome; 1-2 weeks at sports injuries.

Features of use:

The patients having bronchial asthma, the allergic rhinitis recuring polipozy a nose and okolonosovy bosoms chronic obstructive diseases of lungs or persistent pulmonary infections are, as a rule, more sensitive to use of NPVP. At these patients asthma attacks can become frequent, appear a Quincke's edema and a small tortoiseshell. It is not necessary to apply gel on the damaged integuments, including open wounds. To avoid hit in eyes.

Influence on ability to drive the car or to work with mechanisms. It is not known.

Финалгель® it is necessary to apply with care during I and II trimesters of pregnancy. Piroxicam in insignificant quantities can get into breast milk therefore it is not recommended to use drug during feeding by a breast.

Side effects:

- local irritation of skin (inflammation, reddening, urticaria, itch, peeling);
- local allergic reactions

Interaction with other medicines:

It is not known.

Contraindications:

- hypersensitivity to piroxicam or other components of drug;
- hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid or to other NPVP;
- pregnancy (III trimester);
- renal failure;
- age up to 14 years.

Overdose:

At use of drug in the doses exceeding recommended in isolated cases emergence of system side effects is not excluded: headache; disturbances from digestive tract (nausea, pain in epigastric area); asthmas.

The isolated case of development of intersticial nephrite with a functional renal failure and a nephrotic syndrome is described.

 In case of symptoms of overdose drug it is necessary to cancel and see a doctor. Treatment: symptomatic.

Storage conditions:

At a temperature not above 25 °C, in the place, unavailable to children. Period of validity of 5 years. 6 months from the moment of opening of a tuba. Not to use after the expiry date specified on packaging

Packaging:

Gel for external use of 0,5%. On 35 g or 50 g in a tuba aluminum, closed by a cap from plastic with a punch for a membrane. The tuba with the application instruction is placed in a cardboard pack.
