General characteristics. Structure:

Active agents: dextromethorphan hydrobromide of 10 mg, terpin hydrate of 10 mg, left menthol of 3,75 mg.

Pharmacological properties:

Left menthol possesses moderate spasmolytic action. Facilitates a state at manifestation of symptoms of acute rhinitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis and bronchitis.

Pharmacokinetics. After intake dextromethorphan is completely soaked up in digestive tract, metabolized in a liver. The maximum concentration in a blood plasma is reached in 2 hours. To 45% of dextromethorphan can it is removed with urine.
Terpin hydrate is quickly soaked up from digestive tract after intake. Drug circulates in blood in not changed look and is removed through respiratory tracts, with urine and then to which it gives a specific smell. A part of drug is exposed in an organism to oxidation and is removed with urine in the form of phenols together with glucuronic acid.


Indications to use:

The acute and chronic diseases of a respiratory organs which are followed by the dry irritating cough.


Route of administration and doses:

Inside. Adults: 1 teaspoon (5 ml) 3-4 times a day. Children: - from 4 to 7 years - 1/4 teaspoons 3-4 times a day; - from 7 to 12 years - 1/2 teaspoons 3-4 times a day.


Features of use:

The persons using drug should refrain from driving and work with dangerous mechanisms.


Side effects:

Drowsiness, nausea, dizziness, itch, urticaria.


Interaction with other medicines:

Synergy interaction with narcotic antibechic drugs and other medicines, the oppressing TsNS. The possibility of interaction of dextromethorphan with monoamine oxidase inhibitors is not excluded. Therefore at the patients accepting monoamine oxidase inhibitors Glikodin it is desirable to exclude cough syrup.


Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to one of drug components, bronchial asthma, pregnancy, the lactation period, children's age up to 4 years. With care - abnormal liver functions.


Overdose:

Symptoms: excitement, dizziness, respiratory depression, lowering of arterial pressure, tachycardia, dispepsichesky frustration.
Treatment: artificial ventilation of the lungs, symptomatic treatment.
