Цветы кислицыIn a different way the oxalis ordinary in our country is called "borshchovka" or "hare salt". The most widespread this plant becomes spring, then its thickets are scattered practically everywhere: and near trunks of fir-trees, both on plains, and in the shady woods, and on the wet earth. Domestic flora contains only six species of this grass, a half of which is brought from other countries.

The oxalis belongs to herbaceous perennial plants of family of kislichny. In height it never grows more than 15 cm, has very thin branchy rhizome which "creeps" in the horizontal direction. Radical leaves are located on long and fluffy scapes of a plant. Flowers of an oxalis differ in the small size, and also white color which is sometimes diluted with small lilac veins. It is possible to notice on a plant still in the summer small florets which are located on short peduncules. The blooming period of an oxalis is the share of the end of spring and the beginning of summer, and here maturing of seeds already takes place in July.

The fruit of an oxalis represents the small box of an ovoid form which is independently throwing out seeds.

Rather often the plant can be met in the European part of the CIS, in the Caucasus or Non-Black Earth Region, and also in Siberia.

Use of an oxalis

Кислица обыкновеннаяAll parts of a plant can be used in the medicinal purposes. Drugs with the maintenance of leaves of an oxalis have diuretic, antiinflammatory and cholagogue properties. Fresh juice of a plant thanks to which of an organism heavy metals are removed has antineoplastic effect. Also juice is recommended for the use to people with bad digestion and the broken metabolism. The crushed leaves are used for fight against purulent wounds.

In an oxalis rather high content of various organic acids, including oxalic. The tinctures prepared on the basis of this plant apply at treatment of diseases of a liver and stomach. Besides, the borshchovka is an excellent antiseptic agent, and its juice it is possible to cure a mange.

Also flowers of an oxalis and in other part of a plant contain valuable succinic acid which is irreplaceable for each person. Use of a plant at treatment bilious and a bladder is broad, and drugs with the maintenance of an oxalis are means which is capable to stop bleeding. Tincture of a plant can give significant assistance when healing wounds, also it cures a scurvy and jaundice.

Borshchovka has also febrifugal properties by which its broad use is explained during treatment of flu and catarrhal diseases. The oxalis will perfectly cope with a thirst satisfying, reduction of pain at periods, and also with treatment of heartburn. It is known that drugs of a plant help to get rid of an unpleasant smell from a mouth. By means of hare salt it is possible to increase appetite and to normalize acidity of a stomach provided that it is lowered.

For preparation of broth of an oxalis take 1 h l. a dry grass also fill in it with boiled water (in number of 100 ml), send mix for 12 minutes to fire, then cool and filter. Such broth is good medicine for patients with cancer of a stomach, also they can rinse a throat and a mouth, to wash bruises and grazes.

Juice of an oxalis is squeezed out only of its land part. Such means is irreplaceable at diarrhea and a set other inflammatory diseases. It is recommended to accept daily on a tablespoon of juice which is mixed with the same amount of honey. With its help it is possible to treat a stomacace, and compresses made with juice help at abscesses, diathesis and furuncles.

Harm of an oxalis

Prolonged use of drugs on the basis of an oxalis is not recommended because of a large amount of the oxalic acid which is contained in it as it can promote damage of kidneys.

Use of drugs with this plant is strictly forbidden people who suffer from spasms, arthritis, diseases of kidneys and an urolithiasis.
